Ed Norton looked massive in AHX to the normal viewer because he did curls and crunches and ate his chicken and got up to 180.

You put a Chic or QT next to him and he'll look like a kid.  Hell, even marky Mark, known for his muscle, got owned by that grease monkey in the italian Job.  Twice his size.

I think alot of bodybuilders dont get movie roles is because of their size.  Most people are use to those skinny guys with a little bicep muscle. I guess because no one can relate to it.  I'm sure not too many people would like watching someone who weighs over 230lbs star in a movie.  Probably be shocked and the first thing they would say is steroids.  Rather see the usually 160-180lb guy.  I would like to see bodybuilders or more fitness people get into movies.  I dont even like watching these skinny guys with all this cgi effects and guns.  Looks stupid to me..  I would like to see some real bodybuilding/fitness action stars play a role.

I did a tv comercial when I was 245lbs.  (around May, this year) and when I saw the tv ad I looked to be about 280lbs.
tv really does ad a good 20lbs. to your frame.. I can see there not being too much demand for huge juiced up bodybuilders..I think it was more popular during the 80's and the whole fitness craze, but now... not as much.

The most successful leading men are fit enough to be attracive to women with unfit husbands, but not big so that they are intimidating to the men.  Harrison Ford, Bruce Willis, Matt Damon, etc.  Extreme muscle will always remain a niche, it will never be mainstream.

While you make good points, let's not forget these guys have almost no personality, or skills to speak of.

a muscular body doesn't mean you can jack anymore, buddy. their roles are too limited. I bet there are about 4% of BB outthere that have potential to be taken seriously. Chick has a few acting credit, if he could lend a few more roles, he'll be straight.

well, how often do you see a bodybuilder in a movie unless they are in some street fight or bar fight.

I've got two credits to my name...

My elbow is on-screen for five eighths of one second in a short film made by the Irish Film Board (hardly worth five days on set and two days dressed as a SWAT team member) and I just finished being edited out of another short film. There is some footage somewhere of me standing in different positions around the set while the lighting director barks orders at me...

My Hollywood career can only go up from here...

Yes I can see it now. Ronnie Coleman or Jay in a serious acting role. Get fucking real. Bodybuilding is having a hard enough time filling small auditoriums drawing on their own fans. The general public has no interest in gagrgantuan men on the big screen.
