After all this hype about the Pride guys, i'm starting to think it was a monster collaboration of the Yakuza to build up a bunch of scrubs and then sell their share in the MMA market place for huge money!
Question: Do you guys think the same? Did Dana play right into the master plan? Was Dana in on the master plan and get a kick back from the mafia?
I guess time will tell when Wandy & Fedor step up with the 2nd tier boys and the battle begins!

The UFC fighters are just better. Sure, Pride had some good fighters back in the day. But for the most part the UFC has always had the better fighters. Not sure about any conspiracy though. Look for Fedor to get beat by a can if he ever gets the balls to get in the Octagon.

Rampage is from Pride and so was Anderson Silva(who came over before the purchase)...they are both champions and owned 2 UFC poster boys Chuck and Ace as soon as they got a shot.
Cro cop is actually the only prominent fighter I know of so far from PrideFC that ended up being a dud. I could be missing others...not sure.
Let's see how Silva does. Time will tell.

Rampage and Silva are studs. I do recall Silva fighting in another organization before UFC though. Crocop and Herring both suck though and they were pretty big names in Pride.

Herring hasnt been impressive in UFC.
"Maximus" Aurelio lost his UFC debut after fighting in Pride for years.
Fabricio Werdum, who fought and beat among others Fedors brother Aleksander and Overreem in Pride lost his UFC debut against Arlovski.

Anderson was a scrub in Pride and is UFC champion now. Rampage was the second best LHW that Pride had...and he owned Chuck twice and like Silva is champion.
I see no original UFC fighter claiming those belts anytime soon...the belts will be switching back and forth to Pride fighters.
Dont forget Fedor will rule the Hw Division....with those UFC rules..his GNP will be more nasty.

First I hope and pray Ace learns how to defend the thai clinch and NOT let this guy control him like he did last time. Anderson just cannot be that physically stronger than ace but his technique may just be that superior to where it simply didn't matter how strong Ace is/was.
Either way..Ace was in there so only he knows what he felt that night strength/technique wise. I'd like to see Ace pull it out since he was such a gracious champ and held it well, but anderson is a damn hunter with precision accuracy, power, skills...tough one for ace.
I see anderson maybe winning again.

Hahaha, Rampage wasn't even the FIFTH best MW in Pride and he mauled the UFC LHW division. By the way Danielson, before Herring signed with the UFC, he had spent the last 3 years in K-1 Heroes, not Pride. He was washed up in 04, so it's not surprising he sucks in 07. Shogun will take the LHW belt, Fedor the HW, A. Silva has his. The only thing the UFC has going for it is the lighter divisions, and that's because Pride only had one, not two like the UFC.
There are 20-30 Pride superstars that aren't even in the UFC that would absolutely dominate the majority of the UFC cans. The TUF fanboydom is laughably pathetic.

Yes, he is quite good. I read Sherdog, I know that a lot of people think that Pride is better. I think the UFC is much better. The only difference is I would never get upset or emotional over comparisons.

It's not so much that man. It's just at least for me every thread I have opened up is you and Bluto spamming the damn thing talking about Crocop. He's my favorite fighter and as of late he has sucked.. I just hate seeing this board go to shit with you guys bringing it up in every fucking thread.....

Agreed man, see Danny boy here is the issue.. Bluto claims to be a super mod and that he is the greatest. He said that he would make this board so much better. The fact is he has run this board down in such a horrible way. He hasn't added shit to this board and he has invested it with hot steaming garbage. He only got his MOD spot by bitching to RON and nagging. There are a ton of people who are way more qualified to be a mod of this board. people who have trained and actually studied Martial arts. Not just a body builder skinny twat who thinks that power wins fights...

Lets not forget the first UFC champion got embarassed by a professional wrestler in Pride. Who is my favorite fighter, btw. Former UFC champs Mark Coleman, and Maurice Smith, Marco Ruas didn't do to well in Pride (Coleman did win the heavyweight GP, but that was pre Fedor).
The only UFC athlete to do well, and do it over time was Hendo. He was a Vale Tudo fighter, then UFC fighter, then DSE Pride fighter. He will be murderous for folks at 185.
Anderson's striking is worlds apart from anyone in the 185 class. He doesn't throw a lot of strikes, but his strikes are lethal. The way he controlled the clinch against Ace, handled a stud grappler like Marquardt doesn't bode well for the pet detective.

Just because Cro Cop has lost some fights doesn't mean pride fighters are not good. You remember when UFC fighters came to pride? They lost.
I can't wait to see Shogun fight Rampage. That will be a good fight.

Not sure, but didn't Rampage start in the UFC then go to pride? Besides may be a drop off in talent or performance since UFC test for roids and Pride didn't, just a thought
