I have a phobia of crunches. I know that sounds silly, but I'm always panicing I'm going to injure my neck, my chest, ribs, or something - even if it's entirely impossible, I freak out. If I get any weird sensations in my body, I can really have a panic attack (I had one in the past)... What can I do? I can do other exercises fine, but crunches I'm just *afraid* of!!
Is it possible to do the bicycle exercise without lifting your shoulders / neck, and just lay flat on the floor doing the bicycle motion? Ever since I was a child, I was afraid of doing anything that affected my neck - such as the forward rolls, which I refused to do after a while. i don't know why to be honest.. I just had some kind of idea in my head that it would damage me.
Thanks a lot !

Hanging leg raises.

Why the hell would you be afraid of doing crunches? I don't know about you, but i would be more worried about squats or bench than crunches. In fact, pretty much every exercise has more chance of doing some damage rather than crunches.
