"Cro Cop hasn’t been taking the company’s phone calls of late and his future is very much in doubt. With such a high downside guarantee to go with his lackluster performance, he has become very expendable. "
this isnt good news for crocop fights, he is no position to turn down phonecalls from the ufc after his lousy track record !!!

Do you have a source?
-
is an excerpt from an article on UFCDaily.com
is it true? who knows. most rumours in the mma world is not confirmed.
one thing thats true tho, crocop hasnt looked good since he came to the ufc
-
Lawsuit city if he flakes on the UFC.
-
don't know why he wouldn't fight his last fight. they will probably put him against a bum anyway
-
How much did he get for his fight against congo?
Would be stupid to stop now. You know he'll get doable opponents (maybe a bum first and an up-and-coming guy next), so it's a good way to make some money and go out with some honour.
-
wow lots of guys where so great in pride... i think they are having lots of problema adjusting to the new rules and the cage ... and for some scared of strict testing.....
but even crocop stated he didnt train for a cage and he didnt train for elbows
then after the gonzaga fight he said after the elbows he couldnt even see, then bam headkick.......

Overated

:o internet gossip. Mirko make a lot of money win or lose. So why would he just quit?
-
all things considered concerning Mirko, if I'm Dana I'd try to practice some damage control and put him back in there with Kongo or gonzaga,if he beats either one he's got the same product he thought he had when he brought him over from pride,if he loses he'll know the writing was on the wall the whole time and can lay the whole "cro cop thing" to rest......
what better way to motivate mirko than to get a chance to make good on something that went bad the first time ?

Damn good point I still want to see Tim Silvia vs. Mirco

I don't think silvia stands a snow balls chance in hell against Vera to be honest....
maybe silvia would be a pretty safe guy for Mirko at this stage
-
it would be a rebuilder for him I think... To say the least.

not sure dana has much time to rebuild Mirko at this point, unless he took the fast track and put him in to avenge a loss, don't know what the terms of mirko contact is (how many fights) but from the sounds of it I'm guessing we're a couple fights away from it coming to an end

I thought he only had one left??

The following is an from an article on MMAScoops.com:
MMAScoops.com has learned exclusively that Mirko 'Crocop' Filipovic successfully went through surgery which involved straightening his nasal cartilage on Sept. 28. Ever since his debut in UFC, his cartilage has been twisted, which prevented him from breathing properly, thus, 'Crocop' always fought with his mouthpiece slightly out of his mouth.
Crocop said "When I went up to the doctor, he didn't believe the state my nose was in. He didn't even believe that I was an athlete. He said that my nose would account for at least a 50% decrease in my stamina." CroCop also removed the small UFC-cage he had in his house; he decided to switch to the official-size cage.
"I had trouble determining the distance when I fought in the bigger cage; now I am properly training for that." Crocop still says that he will challenge for the UFC belt.

IMHO, if in not mistake, Mirko has 6 fights for a 2 year contract...even if he doesnt want to fight anymore, he would because of all the $$ he is gonna get
