mine was a turtle I named Jackie Turtle (hey I was young, about 5 or 6)

dog named "amie"

I was 6 when we got her and  my dad put her down when I was 19,she lived with epilepsy pretty much from the start

My mom had a dog, "Mollie" that practically raised me.  We were housetrained together.  ;)   When she was 12, she had developed pretty bad hip dysplasia.  She was fine once she got up, but getting up was hard for her.  For some stupid reason, she decided to lay under my step-dads truck.  He didn't see her when he got in the truck and when he pushed the clutch in, the front tire rolled back over on her legs pinning her.  My brother and i watched it...  My step dad was devastated.  He didn't mean to hurt her, but she ended up with a back injury and was euthanized 2 days later. 

My first real pet was a collie named "Fred".  He was a stray that came to us the year my brother was barn.  He died from testicular cancer when I was 16. 



Man, this thread is fucking depressing......  :'(

sorry.  Just wondered what people's first pet were.  My brother's first was either a hamster or a rabbit, I forget which he got first.

We had a red nose named sasha.. Small world.
