Sean Sherk is going to remain the UFC's lightweight champion, but B.J. Penn and Joe Stevenson will fight for a lightweight belt at UFC 80 in January in Newcastle, England, UFC president Dana White said Friday.
White said he's not going to strip Sherk of his lightweight championship because he is fed up with the California Athletic Commission's handling of Sherk's steroids case.

id love to see sherk and penn, hell i'd fly to england for that... but penn and stevenson? stevenson didnt even impress back in the TUF days... i dont think he's got nothing on penn...

I think penn'll wind up taking joe to school eventually, but this fight could have its moments up until the time that P.J. gas's joe out

i was kind of hoping this fight would happen but not so soon. i just don't think steveson is ready.........yet. he will be someday but penn and sherk are on another level for him right now

Joe Daddy is about to be taken to school.
-
penn will show him who is daddy

I wouldn't count Joe out so quickly. Penn is no doubt on another league, but he is also very inconsistent. If he does not take the fight seriously, he could gas out and lose a decision, or worse yet get G&P into a sub.
