A few things....

- Lynn Conkwright, early 1980s Ms. Olympia competitor.  She was my gymnastics coach in junior high school, and she used to practice her routine for us when she was prepping for the Worlds (or whatever the last show she did in the mid-late-1980s was).  I always thought it was pretty damn cool, and she got SO shredded, it was fun to watch her transform.  I also got a pretty good appreciation for the sacrifice and dedication she had.

- The trainer at the first Gold's Gym I joined when I was 16 years old.  He showed me how to use some of the equipment, told me I had great calves, and asked if I had ever considered getting into BB.   :D

- My brother in-law, who told me a million times that I had a good structure for BB and bought me a subscription to Muscle and Fitness back in the early 1990s.  I KNOW, not the best BB magazine, but still!   :P
