Looking ridiculous. Hope you do well at the show, good luck!
-
Alex, there are quite a few levels of condition that competitors aspire to achieve for competition, with the highest level what i like to call onion skinned. You are one of the rare people who has managed that onion skinned level.Absolutely incredible, and i wish you all the best in the nationals.
-
Nice work. Now go win your show. :)
-
Incredible. Good luck in Dallas!
I've never felt fatter...
-

-
Good luck Alex you cant dial it in any better than that.
-
This guy is incredible and seeing that is amazing.
Few humans in the history of earth have ever been in such tremendous shape.
-
Your quads are fucking amazing dude.. :o Reminds me of that Platz picture where he had crazy seperation.. I can't find words to describe your conditioning..
I wish you luck!
-
Good luck dude, looking sick, judges cant overlook you! :o Just remember to be less cranky after your show ;)
-

Cranky?! haha
i don't know how anyone can maintain that level of Bodyfat and Vascularity so well.
he's lucky he didn't murder 3-4 people during the prep.
shit aint funny! :P
-

man he's so ripped you can see his teeth through his lips.
-
alex,
do you ever drop the protein powder from your diet? if so, when?
-
Alex,
You look insane! FREAKY, scary conditioning!!!
Wishing you all the best! (who can beat you?)
Grant.
-
When Alex gets ready for his show, since he has been lean for a long long time, when he 'fills' up...will it be less dramatic than that of someone who is doing the carb/sodium loading ?
-
ripped beyond believe, crazy conditioning. cant imagine what you gonna look like carb loaded
-
Dare I say that Alex is even more shredded than Gaspari? :o
http://www.bodybuildingpro.com/richgaspariseminarandposingdvdreview.html
Actually, it's a good question...but I think there comes a point where it's literally impossible to become MORE shredded without being dead, and I would say both Gaspari and Alex hit that level.

As shredded as I've ever seen anyone
-
As shredded as I've ever seen anyone
Agreed, and you can't get more shredded than that, and I hope Alex doesn't push matters as it looks like he is the obvious winner of his class anyway. Isn't Victor Delcampo competing in his class?
-
hahahahaha, this man is a FFFFFFFFFRRRRRRRRRREEEEE EEEAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKK K!!! if i saw this guy in the gym i would laugh out of total disbelief at what i was seeing. :o

Same here lol. He looks small relative to pros we are all used to seeing, but guaranteed in person he looks stupid big. There are guys who are 5'9-6'0 who are 165 and not nearly as ripped who normal people consider jacked, let alone at Alex's height and condition.
-
What's thinner than paper? "Paper thin" doesn't seem adequate.

Has anyone seen leaner then this guy? SERIOUSLY!

you look fucking amazing. :o :o :o good luck, if you dont win there's somethiing wrong with the system ;D ;D ;D
-
Good luck, Alex. You look amazing.

Go and do your thing Alex. Best wishes(as if you need them)
Im sure your family is very proud of you!

-
Sick conditioning.
-
Does pro card only go to the overall winner?
If so and if you are not a heavyweight or super heavyweight, might be tough to get your pro card (even though, based on how you look right now, you fully deserve one). With the way shows are judged these days, you have to be a mass-monster to get that elusive pro card.
Good luck Alex! Here's hoping that the judges see what we see and you move on to the pros.
-
Good luck, you look great. What gym were those last pictures taken in? Thanks for including us in the journey.
-
At the NPC Nationals, every class winner receives a pro card.
-
Awesome conditioning! You look great. Go kick some ass! Striations everywhere. Unbelievable.

Whatever you're doing, just keep doing it!!!
I really hope you present this same package and not try anything drastic to screw up your prep. That pro card is yours, the others may as well stay at home. As long as you look this on stage- please don't do anything you haven't been doing these last few weeks!!!

HOLY HECK GUYS! This has got to be the most positive thread ever on getbig. wow! and thanks. I just checked into my room and unpacked, set up the laptop and im happy guys.
The plan ride went great, everything so far has been going really good. I lost two hours of time in the travel. And its already getting late, but I wanted to say. Im so happy with your responses. When I see Ron, Im going to ask him if my threads here on Getbig have been the most posive and supportive.
My plan for Thursday is do do what I did Wednesday and the day before that, except i have to go get weighed in and have some pics taken. Hopefully i look decent, im going to be pretty flat to make weight but will fill out pretty quickly right after. Then for fridays prejudging.....hmm let me see....Should I cut my sodium and wait, go back to thursday, take a diozide, cut sodium, friday cut water and start loading on pie filling, bannanas and grap juice? . or should I shit load on stacks of pancakes and burgers or pizza. What about chinese? That might work too. My body is craving that crap...I might look ten times better than I did before my last set of pics..
Naaa, I think Im going to eat the same old stuff i have been eating all through my prep. Heck all off season. all 16 months, and even before that. I have been eating the same stuff for so long and not only do I still love it, its still working for me. Like Ive been told by my wife, a pro or two, a regular joe, a nice guy, a not so nice guy, by just about everyone here, DONT change nothing. So thats my plan. I wont! I wont look better than these pics. Worse, I doubt it, better I dont know. If I look this good Im happy, ive done my work and I will be happy with the outcome. I will keep everyone posted and feel free to keep things going here. I love hearing all the positive stuff! PEACE GUYS! Alex A

I think you should play it safe until the show and then take the week afterwards to push the envelope, loading some shit in between your photoshoots which should really make your physique go absolutely nuts. Get plenty of pictures, the best thread may be yet to come from this series, Alex. Think about it.
-
that is peeled,skinned then reconfigurated.good luck .....
I couldn't have said it better myself ! Good luck, Alex !
-
Alex relax and get some sleep, get your food all set up, etc...there's plenty of time to share more later and make quite a bit more of this next week. Go ahead and take a break from this if you need to, don't change much man, stay on target.
-
Alex. you're way beyond my expertise to offer any suggestions, but in your last post you asked yourself some darn interesting and important questions, the answers to which will be more evident a day or two after the event.
This is not a recommendation by any means but back in the 70's and 80's the contenders who "attempted" to reach your present condition (I don't know anyone who came even close except for the remote possibility of Ernie Santiago and Tom Platz. And even at their best, they were "only close") would chow down on pancakes at the House of Pancakes in Santa Monica the morning of the prejudging at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. They would attempt to eat just enough so as to not bloat their stomach., resulting in a great pump just prior to going on stage for that initial prejudging lineup.
In addition, a small bit of red wine 20 minutes or so before going on stage would inhance their vascularity. One winner in particular enjoyed a couple of shots of Kentucky Moonshine (bodyguilder mentality - "If wine is good, moonshine's gotta be better!"). If he reads this, he'll surely come in with a responsce regarding the attributes of that old Kentucky remedy for anything from child birth to rhumatism and looking your best in bodybuilding lineups.
Pre-contest knowledge has surely advanced beyond what was so common back then, but I bet ya that you'll be eye-witnessing some who follow what many still consider this "old and sacred routine" for attempting to excel during the brief few minutes of this prejudgng ritual.
No advice is given here but those pancakes were a necessity way back then and a $5 bottle of cheap red wine accomplished miracles ..........
...... And a few headaches the following day for the few who felt that more was so much better than less.
Alex , remember those questions you asked yourself.... and answer them in a week or so! You'll be learning much more than you ever expected because you'll be teaching yourself after "living out" the answers!
And I'll bet ya this....... No matter how well you're going to do on Saturday nite, you're gonna see yourself next Tuesday and admit in your own mind that you wished the contest was held three (3) days later. May not make any sense to you right now, but on Tuesday it will become so much clearer.
A few of us have learned a lot as a result of your dedication. I know for a fact that I've increased my workouts and dieting efforts since you initiated this post. Thanks for that, Alex.
Good luck to ya, Alex. You'll be giving those judges a lot to consider this coming weekend.

Yeah, here we go, this is the good stuff...this thread just got real good...
Honestly, like you said Stunt, in the past 2 weeks, everything has just clicked for me in my own training, like you just said...I'm eating clean, training hard, it all feels good, just by reading his mindset here you develop a craving for the grind; it's war; it's excellence in the flesh. There's nobody reading this stuff that it can't help; it's literally infectious...it's viral, these ideas, this training, this dieting, and this conditioning ideal. I'm telling you, I predict this thread series will prove a huge tipping point for bodybuilding. I wanna see Alex expand on this as much as he can because it will help everybody; again, this is good for the sport in general. Anyone looking at Alex can imagine achieving even a quarter of what he has here and it making them into much more of what they wanna be than they ever have been, that's the charm here; Alex is the bodybuilding everyman.
-
Wow! Ive really motivated people here. That is so cool, when you get in the best shape you can, then I can feel I helped you be part of it. Its allot of mental attitude. You know. But its your hard work. Im super glad I helped you guys get things going great with your training and thanks for the excellent advise. Take care and keep in touch. Alex
-
Great job Alex A!
I was blown away to see your overweight picture.... who would've thought?!?
Enjoy your weekend.

Alex, you have to venture outside this thread to see the the real GetBig, where ownings, photoshopped Onlyme pictures and millionaire-cage fighting-playboy model-dating-300lb more-ripped-than-Alex A posters are the norm. No criticisms in this thread because there is nothing to criticize. You are ready, I'm surprised more pros haven't been asking you how to diet...or have they? Good luck, you've done your homework.
-
Alex
.......you look absolutely phenomenal.....holy shit.....hold this conditioning and fullness....you should be mentioned in the same breadth as gaspari, munzer...
seriously, man, Nationals should be nothing more than an afterthought.
If I was competing and saw you backstage......my competing days would be over!
-
Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement. People are stuck in their ways and have their own way of doing things. Im glad I have learned, I have gotten better and I have figured out how to get in shape. Some competitors never do, they dont really want to, either they dont want to learn from somone else becuase they are too stubborn or they dont want to be pushed beyond the pain threshold.
You see the thing about competing and getting in great contest shape is this. Its painfull in the gym, its painfull on the treadmill, its painfull at the dinner table all year long. Thats alot of pain my friend. Getting peeled is not for the weak.
I wish there was a way, I can apply my discipline to something that would make me a rich man. But oh well, im getting by pretty good with a great wife, kid, home and a life that I should me more than proud of. Why am I complaining? I guess im not.
-
we haven't seen him doing poses, weaknesses may be hidden in these pictures.

ahhh nooooooo......next!
-
the only pic i think compares to alex's conditioning is of this one bald bodybuilder (i think european) hitting a most muscular, shot only from the waist up. apparently he has passed on. don't know his name. it would be nice if someone could post it.
-
Alex at weigh-in!...
-
Hans :(
-
Easy class win and pro-card.................in a perfect world with judges knowing what the hell they`re doing,he`d win the overall.
Who knows, maybe he can pull it off?
-
who knows?
He's condition is amazing. i also like his back hams and calves... but his chest, shoulders and arms are not that impressive.
ALL THE BEST ALEX!
-
his conditioning actually reminds me of what lacour had a few years ago...just awsome.
-
Hey guys, lets hope I can bounce back from the weigh in. Check this out. I had to make weight. I knew I would look like shit and didnt want to have any pics taken but had to.
I had to make some cuts to make weight, my tan had one shitty coat, my face was white. But worst of all and eveyones in the same boat.....no pump....sitting aroun, all sucked up, lined up, weighed us in and its not like you can pump up for this thing. You just hit shots. And my back shot, im not in the pose correctly, same with the side chest etc... I need to tweak my posing quick!
I look small and flat as a pancake,, chest looks tiny and shoulders are not full. I need water, food, a pump and some color....plus the stress etc. it totally sucks at the weigh in.
I thank you guys for checkikng me out here. Its a pretty huge class, didnt count but over twenty im sure. ANyways, I will keep you posted. TOday, i need to tweak the posing rest, and get my tan in order. Im here alone guys, its not that easy!
thanks to all! alex a

HOLD EVERYTHING!!!! THIS DUDE HAS STRIATIONS!!!!
I haven't seen too much of that, well at this level of development, since probably 1995. He no doubt has cross-striations in person. Now most of us haven't heard (or seen) cross striations in a long, long time.
JESUS CHRIST BRO!!! GOOD JOB!!!
