Title: Serious question about Halliburton
Post by: Tre on January 08, 2008, 09:07:16 PM

Despite right-wing attempts to characterize me differently, I am extremely patriotic.

I have long considered it unpatriotic to support a company like Halliburton.

Taking the soaring profits into consideration and their projected revenues for the next decade, shouldn't I jump on that gravy train?

Or is it still unpatriotic to seek to profit from the deaths of American soldiers?

they'll stop paying taxes here in the US next year.

Anyone want to bet Dick Cheney will grab some "adviser" role with them in 2009? ;)

I wonder how soon it will be before they start providing "services" to our enemies?

Also, I believe there are numerous ongoing investigations by the House Committee on Oversight and Govt. Reform for overcharging the US taxpayers to the tune of ~ 3 billion dollars

Hated both.

Hate Bush more because of his war.

But Bush's true legacy is that he managed to make Clinton look good.  How pathetic is that?  If Bush does a better job as President, then no one is talking about Hillary today.

Here's the thing with haliburton....unless some u guys have stock in Haliburton, u don't get anything out of them. U can hate and moan and groan all u want without anything to worry about. KBR/Haliburton runs the war for us. They feed us, provide fuel...do alot of maintenance that soldiers are not trained for. They fix weapons...up armor vehicles..maintain all the civilain transport in Kuwait/Iraq/Afghanistan etc etc. They run fule..build our shelters and Fobs..nobody else world wide can do what they do. KBR/Haliburton got this way under Clinton. Bill downsized us and the military saw a major need for contractors. Hell they provide us great gyms....so bitch all u want, if it weren't for them we couldn't do anything.
