As I'm sitting here this morning the TV is telling a story of how Firefighters rushed through flames in a burning house and rescued a dog inside. This happens quite often if necessary from what I can tell. They even had a special breathing air mask made for dogs, (maybe cats too?) to help the the dog recover.
I seem to read or hear about firefighters or even police risking their own lives to save pets or even wild animals in distress (a moose stuck in the ice I saw rescued by people the other day) This shows much compassion on their side and makes me think there is hope for mankind.
I just wanted to say thanks to those people with the drive and unselfish leadership to help others in times of extreme need. People like that are not common, lots of regular people would think a dog's life is not worth saving in situations like that.

agreed also..I'm grateful for people like this
