Post by: davie on February 10, 2008, 01:51:15 PM
hey guys, Havnt posted in a while, been working away happily.

Just curious as towhat ur goals are from lifting just for health benifits, to compete etc etc.

Im comeing to realise that i just want to be as big and a s strong as possible, and i dont just mean big in perfect muscles sort of way. Just big , and strong on all the big boy lifts.

yeah, I get what you say..but, it's easy to fall into being a permanent bulker if goals are'nt ever changed. I also enjoy lifting for size and strength. however, I've learned that I need to switch up my training styles every now and then. Diff exercises, rep ranges, intensity levels...also making slight changes in my diet to lean out a little from time to time. this def keeps it interesting for me

but only training with only a few reps each set won`t build the optimum of musclemass.
I believe you have to work with very heavy weights for lower reps, and heavy weights for higher reps.

actually what i do is a 5x5 routine but not really i do the first 3 sets for 5 reps with good rests then the 4th set i do 5 reps then  drop the weight and with like a 30 sec rest give or take pump out ten reps or till failure which is usually ten....it has worked real well for me so far i know it might not sound ideal but my body has been responding well...so i dont know but you cant get anywhere without hard work know matter what you are doing

My goal at the moment is to equal my strength from three years ago when I was on gear - I've been natural for the last two years and I'm slowly getting there - I'm not training for strength specifically as my rep range is quite high - 10-12 reps a set on most exercises but the strength and size are coming on nicely. Weighed myself tonight at 227lbs - my heaviest before (three years ago) was roughly 248.

i am going for the health look so my goal is to have a nicely sculpted physique with a six pack and budging veins on the biceps.  should fit nicely with my collection of abercrombie t-shirts.

My real life goal is to retire at 50 (14 more years to go). Than maybe go back to the islands for a couple of years. Over throw all the processing of coconut/copra plants. Including the tuna canning plants and give everyone a fair wages scale as on the mainland. Then probably make my self the compassionate king. Maybe I can raise a volunteer army in the next 14 years. Know a lot of present and former marines. And assorted  navy personal.

My training goal is to keep lifting heavy and keep matching or beating any of my PB. I love the clang of BB plates and thud of a heavy BB hitting the floor. And all the other gym sounds . It's music to my ears. Do not want to get any bigger, that would be stupid for me. And keep doing the Yoga movements, keeping that edge that only flexibility can give as I get older. Good Luck.

Even if I was a non-ebony mountain of muscle - I wouldn't compete.
My goal is a muscular build + a shade of abs... nothing fancy.
