Bow down for Kris Kristofferson. This is not an older song, but one I play in my mother's honor again. We both loved Kris and several months before she fell ill, we had an excited conversation about Kris releasing this song. We had the highest respect for Kristofferson. If you haven't read up on him, he's had one hell of a life. You should definitely read his bio. Pure genius.
bow down to a legend:

ah man the Monkees are the bomb. little corny yes but they rivaled the beatles during the mid 60's.
I heard ToM Petty was rather upset about Prince whoring the stage at the end soloing. I thought it was cool. So did the young kid in the back playing acoustic.

I never knew what this guy was talking about cause I was just a kid but I knew what "homo" kinda meant and that it had a negative meaning to it at the time. I just heard/saw the song/video tonight for the first time in over 25 years and it all makes sense now. haha The Commodore Pet computer was high tech at the time. lol
-
lol, yeah
shit... I went and reminded myself. :'( My mother and I were listening to John Denver late one night a few weeks before she passed on. It's one of the last normal times we had together. His music just brought her back to life for a moment... Here's to both of them :'(

I used to like his stuff when I was a kid. I also remember watching some movie with him it and George Burns ? (the old guy that smoked cigars all the time and told jokes?), anyway he played God, Denver was the only one that could see and hear him and it was up to John Denver to spread god's word or something like that?
Sorry to hear about your mom. It's amazing how music can take us back sometimes.

Looking back in time through books or music can have a strange effect, sometimes it's really bitter sweet so I understand where your coming from.
One last one, and it's off to bed. Another long day tomarrow. :(
Shock the Monkey. 1982, man I feel old. :-\
