After seeing him destroy Hendo I can't think of any interesting matchups for him at MW. Maybe he could go up to 195 and fight at a catchweight. Anyone think he could beat Rampage? Who else could he fight?
-
He said he wants to fight a 185lb boxing champion to show that MMA can hang with the best of the pro-boxers, he said he was tired of the disrespect by boxers and die hard boxing fans. I still think him and Matt Lindland should meet somewhere down the road, im not saying that would be an interesting match up, but it would be one of the tougher fights out there for him. Silva did say he wouldn't fight over a 190lbs or under 175lbs, maybe the UFC can take up Elite's offer for a cross promotional unification, maybe the winner of Shammy/Cung Le (I don't know im just throwin shit out there).
-
if he doesn't fight lindland, he should move up to light heavyweight because there are no other middleweights that can give him a challenge
after last night i am now convinced he is number one pound for pound in the world

Anderson would get his ass kicked in a boxing match, lets not get carried away now.
I'd like to see him fight Kang and Filho....I would favorite Anderson in those bouts.

Kang is coming off a KO loss and him and Filho said they would never fight each other, they are friends and sometimes help each other prepare for fights. As for the boxing match those are his words not mine.

Then he should fight the Jap that beat Hendo, Japs give Anderson problems. ;D
-
hendo will catch him next time. in the meantime throw okami at him or let him go muay thai stand up with belcher

Catch his knee with his face again?

i didn't really think Silva dominated Hendo that much and thought Hendo could provide a decent rematch
i'd like to see a Hendo/Franklin match

That would be 3 title shots in his first 3 matches in the UFC. I know he was good in Pride, but thats just insane imo.

Yeah, I am the only person in the whole world who thinks that. ::) Do you think that someone should get 3 title fights in his first 3 fights?

i think if dan is staying at 185 he should fight somebody else first but who else can give anderson a fight?
dan is the only one I feel has a chance at beating him
and how is dan overrated?

I don't know Earl I liked the gif and tried to think of something to use as a sig to match the avatar. It's not like I made a thread about it. However I don't think he deserves another title shot, not until he at least wins 3 fights in a row.

Well, it wasn't total domination by silva, but Hendo didn't really cause any major problems either.
I don't see the rematch swinging the other way. Silva has too many weapons and no real weaknesses.

I think this was the peak of UFC matchups to be honest, and after seeing such a shitty fight I really have to wonder when we'll see a matchup (of this interest) again...
Silva may have to move up or fight at a catch wieght just to generate any interest...

The Filho fight would be good at 185, and White seems interested in it.

I would like to see Urijah Faber put on 40 lbs and challenge Silva ;D

I'd settle for the UFC opening up a 145 lb division so that some of the guys currently fighting at 155 could move down and challenge faber

They have both stated that they would never fight each other, Anderson re-iterated that this weekend. They are friends and both members of team blackhouse. Paulo also said that if he beats Sonen in the rematch he would like to move up and fight the 205lb champ.

I heard that, but then White was all, "If the stars are aligned, then any fight is possible. " He's going to ask Anderson to rethink his position. Don't know if Anderson will.
Depending on how successful last Saturday's PPV was, there could be a lot of $ riding on it.
Paulo is an intriguing fighter. I don't think his fighting weight is more than 185, but he has no problems handling fighters who've got to outweigh him considerably.
I hope there's no bs about Sonen "screaming" with pain this time around.

For some reason Faber gets on my nerves, he just looks like a little bitch. Him and Pulver have a date set for June 1st. Although I wouldn't mind seeing Anderson Silva punt his stupid ass like one of those baby nerf footballs.

I think the toughest matchup would be GSP at a catch weight, say 181 lbs.
Anderson would still win.
But I think GSP would be harder to beat than Rampage.
JMO.
And I think the light heavies will be dominated by Thiago Silva inside 18 months.

Nathan Corbett vs Anderson Silva
-
I think the problem is that A. Silva's body is just made for 185.
I don't think gaining weight would make him better.
That's why he wants to stay at 185.
Problem with most 205-guys is that they fight at a much heavier weight. So it would be hard to come in at 185 for them and still perform.
I can see Machida doing it and grinding out a decision against A. Silva.
