Title: cheat meals.
Post by: smaul on March 28, 2008, 07:38:44 AM
What do you guys think?  This article seems to be against them (scroll down to the bottom).  I can see both ways of thinking.

I think they may be very overrated, just an excuse for the weak willed?  I guess increasing your carbs every few days (loading) does not actually constitute a cheat meal.

i think a cheat MEAL is ok but not a cheat DAY.
the meal should be small because if its too large then youll pay for it later.

I guess it depends how you see it. To me, a cheat day would be simply eating a few more carbs. And mostly it would only be a couple of meals that day, not every meal. A cheat day where you eat crap all day i dont agree with, but a few cheat meals where you still eat healthy is fine.

I just had a competitive bodybuilder give me a diet and he has cheat DAYS and by cheating he means CHEATING.....basically eat AS MUCH crap as you can.  This works amazingly well for him.  He eats STRICT from Monday to Friday and then eats like a bear on crack Saturday and Sunday.  He always has great results from this.

Yes, there are cheat meals.  You cheat yourself out of hard earned progress.

I think a refeed or cheat meal is fine once a week when dieting hard

Would you guys consider 10 vodka/diet's, 4-5 shots of Don Julio, and Jack in the Box a cheat meal?
