Hahaha nice idea ;)
-
Thats pretty cool. 8)
-
Very good idea
-
It's not bad but I can still seesome problems with lifting the dunmbells off the rack - your wrists are twisted a tad and could get injured and once the dumbells are off the rack it looks like they could still bang into the apparatus. I may be wrong though and the makers have already thought past that. :-\
-
Against.
Inspires laziness. For more than a century, man has been picking up dumbbells from the floor and returning them to the floor at the completion of a set.
Besides, what if you're 1-1/2 inches off on the re-rack? I foresee many hand injuries.
-
A potentially very dangerous piece of equipment. A fatigued lifter could encounter problems.
Just another poorly thought out fad.
-
Idea is ok - design is flawed!
When you grab the dumbells your putting your shoulders at such a weird angle that it forces them to be in impingement. It's like losing and arm-wrestling match really bad!
Also
what about the guy that is exhausted after his set, if he misses the rack watch out!
-
Kinda needless imo :-\

I had a couple of short racks made that stand about 14" off the ground. We use them for floor presses.
-
i see many injuries in the making, i even clean the bar from the floor when i do shoulder presses.
-
I had the dumbell spotters when i bought the TITAN,the only problem is you have to set them a little bit behind you so that you don`t hit them on the way down, which makes it awkward getting the dumbells into place. You feel like you have to press then pullover in one movement.Plus, when you put the dumbells back, you have to guide them perfectly into place or else you catch your hand on the spotters. You have to do this one side at a time,so as you put one side back you feel unbalanced.
-
Definitely worth trying, could be very helpful. That caveman stuff about lifting it yourself is laughable, ij'm sure those guys use racks for barbells. I'd be glad to direct more effort to the set, thanx.
-
This can be yours for $14,615. I admit i want to try to... just so I can make fun of it.

Well it is actually twice the size of Queer Vissy. Vince uses it whenever Vissy is on the rag.
On a serious note (well the best I can do) I was looking at the piece of equipment the thread is about. I thought it is a good idea but like I think someone else said if someone is doing heavy dumbbells there may be a chance they are going to have a hard time putting them back into the racks and could possibly pinch their wrists. I was thinking about getting one for my gym especially since I love dumbbell work. I am still on the fence. And yes it is a thck fence and it can hold me,
-
Milos was endorsing a piece of equipment like that awhile back. Not sure what happened, if anything at all, but it was similar to the first pic posted.

There is a guy in HAwaii who invented these hooks that go on the dumbbells. They worked pretty good and only cost $20 a pair
-
if you are not strong enough to pick the dumbells off the ground yourself get them into position and press them then you are not srong enough to use them properly.

oh and put them down properly without throwing them.
i lower them rotate them then sit up with them
if i can do it everyone else should with their own relative dumbells

PIECE OF SHIT.

Power Hooks?
Kieth have you ever travelled to ireland?
-
i hate clowns who throw dumbbells such that they hit the floor at an angle

Following that thinking, if you're not strong enough to pick up and rest a barbell behind the neck, you can't squat it. ::)
-
wrong its about being able to control and have control over the weight you are using.
i.e if you arent strong enough to squat 315 with reasonable control and to good depth then dont use 315 etc.

I agree with the use of the dumbbell spotters after a certain point. When you have powerlifters and strongmen using 150lbs + dumbbells it becomes a pain in the ass to position, spot, and balance them both for the lifter and the spotter. These will save time and energy that he can use to actually use to make the lift.
It's an interesting but not absolutely necessary piece of equipment, sorta like say, bumper plates.
:).
