Title: Tha Carter III
Post by: McFarland on June 11, 2008, 08:05:40 PM
Tha Carter III is the sixth studio album by American rapper Lil Wayne, released on June 10, 2008. It is the final album of Tha Carter trilogy. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 200, and it sold 423,000 it's opening day.

The digital version you buy on iTunes includes a Lollipop remix with Kanye West that you cannot get on the CD version.  The 2-disc Deluxe CD version comes with "The Leak" digital iTunes album on CD format for the first time as Disc 2.

With this CD Lil' Wayne is basically confirmed the best rapper alive by the rap industry as Jay-Z passes the torch in the single "Mr. Carter" and Kayne West lyrically confirms it on his verse in the "Lollipop" remix.

Well yeah he's been on an epic come up ever since Tha Carter II, starting out with his duet with Birdman on "Stuntin' Like My Daddy" and extending on through his over 70 guest appearances on every good fucking rap song or rap song remix since around the summer of 07' where his verse in them was basically the one everyone liked the most.  But I know what you mean.

This IMO is the one that just broke everything loose for him and it was released in October of 2006.  He's had a verse on basically every good rap song or rap song remix ever since and it's usually been the best part of the song.

Nothing more than culture destruction. I suppose it would be too much to ask for these guys to start offing each other in record numbers  :o
dont blame the artists, they do what the bosses tell them to..Interscope, Universal. the last time i checked the companies were run by white men.

Artists are TOLD to have numerous tattoos, they always drum up are police charges a few weeks prior to Releasing there album. if you saw these guy before they signed a deal you wouldnt believe they would turn out to be rap star.

50 cent was a chubby girl, signed to interscope, put on some muscle, got inked and they milked his story "He got shot 8 times"
its  bullshit publicity, just like when stallone said he has $100 in the bank and he rejected $300,000 from the studio cause he wanted to play rocky and they just wanted to buy the script off him....most stories from entertainers are B.S and are fabricated by the P.R people.

In 2007, Wayne introduced his trademark phrase, "It's the remix, bay-beh!" in what would become the hottest rap song of the summer and "Weezy F. Baby," another of Wayne's numerous aliases, was the new undisputed king of the mixtape circuit.

On May 30th, Tha Carter III was leaked internationally. The first of the leaks were distributed on May 30th at around 8pm where five songs from the track list were available on the internet. Hours later on May 31st at 12am-1am the whole album was leaked and posted on various websites for free download. The DJ responsible for the leaks was DJ Chuck T who retaliated for an interview conducted by Wayne, where he discredited all DJ's and the mixtape scene days before.

this applies to 98% of rappers, not many reach the success like Nelly, 50cent, Diddy and Jay-Z..these guys have endorsments, you think Reebok would sponsor a crackhead like wayne? you think Hewlett Packard wants to place soulja boy in there advertising campaigns, you think Rass kass will own a piece of a NBA team?

I cant lie, i love rap music.
its definately taken a huge dip since the 90's, the lyrical content is basically the same with every artist, just the beats are different..

record companies spend millions promoting artists like Lil Wayne, 50, nelly, Diddy.

I believe the record companies actually force the masses to like the music they promote, saturation..
How can this guy be popular without millions spent to convince 15 yr olds that his hot

lil wayne...greatest rapper alive!
although news on The Game not retiring after planning to do so after his 3rd album L.A.X, he has other plans

Game elaborated upon which people he would want to be in the studio with him: “My next album was supposed to be this album. But when I started recording [L.A.X.] it turned left on me. The next project will be called the D.O.C. or “Diary of Compton.” It will have ten tracks on it, non-listed, no names— just chapters 1 through 10. If I get Dr. Dre, MC Ren, King Tee, DJ Yella, Ice Cube and DJ Quik to help me, not necessarily to rap on it, but to produce and be in my corner, then the D.O.C. will hit stores!”

I'm a big jay-Z fan.  The Black album and the Blueprints were some of the best stuff since Dre was on his game, and Chino XL touched down with that impeccable style.

Jeff, is this record really that good?  I haven't bought a rap record in a while.  Is this really worth it?

True, but Tupac still has his certain style to which he rapped, that fast rapid fire way. Man remembered when Lil Wayne started spittin' like that, I was like get your own style...
Russ Parr Morning show was makin' fun of what he was sayin', because it sounded like was drunk and ramblin'...but some of the stuff can be catchy, I just don't like the fact that when he was doing a interview, he said Alfred Nobel invented gunpower..at least when you try to sound smart, know WTF you are talking about

"Probably even more influential than Disney is the international media leviathan Times Warner, Inc. Chairman of the Board and CEO is Gerald Levin. Warner Music is by far the world's largest record company, with fifty labels, the biggest of which is Warner Brothers Records, headed by Danny Goldberg. Warner Music's Interscope Records was an early promoter of 'gangster rap,' a genre with lyrics which explicitly encourage Blacks to commit acts of violence against Whites and treat women with callous contempt. These deeply unpleasant messages are often reinforced by video images courtesy of Stuart Hersch, President of the company's video production operation, Warnervision."

Matt and his conspiracies again.  ::)

Thanks for proving my point, Quickerblade!

parker, he is a drug addict..his ok, for some reason the studios are spending heaps of marketing $$ on this predator looking ugly fuck..but u cant hate, number one album in the country, album sales are over 500,000 units within 2 days.

That's clearly the image they want people to see when they think of Black America.

On the flip side, I can take some comfort in the fact that many Blacks are buying Hannah Montana albums for our kids.

When you come back with nothing but insults, it confirms to myself (and indeed any intelligent person reading this) that what I'm saying is true.  If you had facts to the contrary you would have no problem posting them.

Get it?

Since I have given the facts numerous times and you were not happy with that, I simply ask you to tell you who owns the media then?  Then I'll watch as you give me fuck all for a rebuttal.

Or better yet, come back with "Well...multiple interests own the media."

LOL.

Meaning, once the politically incorrect truth of near complete Jewish media ownership is conceded, people still can't admit it openly, and instead need to state something vague such as the above.  Meanwhile, this is perfectly acceptable to say:

last time i checked the companies were run by white men.

Nope, no racial double standard here or anything.

By the way Quickerblade, last time you checked?  There wasn't even a first time you slag.

All I know is that when I went into Best Buy to get Carter III on Tuesday after work every copy they had was gone and I'm not even sure enough white people know about Lil' Wayne yet for it to be selling like that to whites exclusively.  It's been a real long time since I went to get a CD and it was gone completely from the shelves.  That just doesn't really even happen anymore as far as I know.

That's like that for any album drop...they hype it up as a must have. Like Jay_Zs albums, the kiddie toucher R. Kelly's albums. As a matter fact he has one dropping July.  It's funny, R. Kelly's albums gone in all the Best Buys, but two weeks later they have to give them away because they were sooo over stocked. "Double Up" was a disappointment, and I didn't even want to buy the album.

Now, one album that was slept on last year was "The Afro Samurai Soundrack" shit was pretty good. Had tracks produced from Rza with Alllen Anthony of "Christion" fame (1st R and B group signed to Rocafella).

But I def would put Common's and Jay-Z's American Gansta album ahead of Weezy.
Title: Re: Tha Carter III
Post by: Tre on June 12, 2008, 12:09:34 PM

Why do people think R. Kelly can sing?  Is it because his first name only has one letter?

That 'Fly' song, easily one of the worst ever (among the overplayed songs in a given year) and for whatever reason, it won't go the hell away.

Black folk need a better, brown-skinned Hannah Montana.  I'm not gonna pimp my kid out, but as you might expect, she'd be the perfect little role model.  :)

I called it that because I don't know the exact name for it.  I know it's a phenomenon though.  There's a succinct point in one's life where "new trends" become threatening but I don't know what to Google to find it.  But I guess you could say the same thing about me and "emo" rock, I just can't hardly relate to MTV anymore unless it's Headbanger's Ball or the rap show they have and that kinda takes some work to stay on top of just because you can't hardly hear the good stuff unless you look to satellite radio for it.  But I do say the majority of the other mainstream stuff is trash and yeah their effeminent tendencies are a little offensive to me.  But people were saying the same thing about "long-haired hippies" in the 70's, I think that guys pushing the gender thing is probably an eternal trend that only looks "new" from an illusory, momentary standpoint.  At least we thought Axl would be able to whip somebody's ass if the situation called for it though.  What's Pete Wentz gonna do except worry about his hair getting fucked up?  The first time I saw the Sweet Child O' Mine video I thought Axl was a girl though, true story.  Maybe it's all the same thing.

best lyrical rapper i've heard in a long time is Lupe Fiasco.  None of this faux-gangster bullsh*t from all these other fools.  Just straight flow without flashy names and media hype.

I'm fearless
Now hear this
I'm earless
And I'm peerless
That means I'm eyeless
Which means I'm tearless
Which means my iris resides where my ears is
Which means I'm blinded
But I'mma find it I can feel it's nearness
But I'mma veer so I don't come near
Like a chicken or a deer
But I remember I'm not a listener or a seer so my windshield smear
Here, you steer, I really shouldn't be behind this, clearly cause my blindness
The windshield is minstrel, the whole grill is roadkill, so trill and so sincere. Yeah, I'm
Both them there
Took both pills, when a bloke in a trench coat and the locs in the chair had approached him
Here
And he clear as a ghost, so a biter of the throats in the mirror
The writer of the quotes for the ghosts who supplier of the notes to the living
Riveting is rosy, pockets full of posies, given to the mother of the deceased. Awaken at war,
'til I'm restin' in peace

or

First got it when he was six
Didn't know any tricks
Matter fact
First time he got on it he slipped
Landed on his hip and bust his lip
For a week he had to talk with a lisp
Like this
Now we can end the story right here
But shorty didn't quit it was something in the air
Yea
He said it was somethin' so appealing
He couldn't fight the feelin'
Somethin' about it
He knew he couldn't doubt it
Couldn't understand it
Brand it, since his first kickflip he land it
Uh
Labeled a misfit, abandoned
Ca-kunk, ca-kunk, kunk
His neighbors couldn't stand it, so
He was banished to the park
Started in the morning wouldn't stop till after dark
Yea
When he said it's getting late in here
So "I'm sorry young man there's no skating here"

Yes, I get it.  When it's racism towards whites it's perfectly alright and you voice no objections but when I correct the thread and point out the REALITY that it's Jews, then I am the racist.  ::)

Nothing more than culture destruction. I suppose it would be too much to ask for these guys to start offing each other in record numbers  :o

dont blame the artists, they do what the bosses tell them to..Interscope, Universal. the last time i checked the companies were run by white men.

Notice how the assertion that white men are essentially destroying culture got NO CRITICISM in this thread, yet when I point out the reality (Jews are responsible), I am racist and you come back saying "It's when you start hinting that Jews will use these positions to somehow subvert these institutions or use them for broadcasting propaganda that people have a problem with what you are saying."

Uh huh.  Yet it's alright to say white men are doing this.  ::)

Jews or Israel are NEVER criticized in mainstream American media.  NEVER.  Nope, no conspiracy here.  ::)

its all marketing, his LOLLIPOP video and GOT MONEY video are exactly the same, he used the same formula, lots a flashing lights, lots of girls, thats the formula that works.

have you noticed 50 cent's music video quality has dropped each year, his doing animation music videos, and if you go on youtube his making music videos from a IPhone in his garage  ??? ???

Wayne's time has come, how long till he falls off, its up to the label and the consumers.

How bout Usher? from 10Million (in the US) records sold, he has only sold 500,000 on his latest project..what's up with that?

Don't know, but the last album,  there was speculation that he had gotten a chick pregnant while he was dating Chile, so people were buying the album because of the fiasco and if the title track related to it. This album is solid, but has no drama before it...
