I realise for continental Scandinavians that this is a pain; in the present everything is 'er' and in the past everything is 'var'. Sorry for being the grammar police but a smart guy like you should always strive for the best, whatever the subject matter! ;)

Terrorism is their most popular profession in the EU.

Well, since you mentioned it: 'gera' in Scandinavian languages means both do and make but in English they are rarely interchangeable, which can be shown in the case above; in English one always makes errors or mistakes. We never use do in this context.
