....is Joe Petreycik of Connecticut.
He took the lightheavyweight class and pushed Sean Allen for the overall at the NPC Atlantic States
And
Just this past weekend annexed both the NPC CT State Championships and the Connecticut Grand Prix.
Let's wish him luck...I feel he can be a top-runner in no time.

Not a chance
-
not impressive for me. his physique is ugly and awkward
-
He looks like a pretty old guy who has trained/taken drugs for years.
-
Joe is going to have a tough job being in the top three, but improvements from the last time he competed is more important.
-
Moosejay, sorry bro but you're delusional. Check out my Jeff Long thread. Now there's a top entrant!
-
maybe the pictures don't do him justice. i just don't see him as a threat to anyone
-
Yea, Moose, as much as I hate to agree with my fellow GetBiggers, I tend to believe that Joe will be doing 1/2 as well as your believe and earnestly hope for.
I'm pretty good at calling out the placeings during the initial line-up but if I have a good friend up there or a family member or someone whose contest prep I was involved in - I have one hell of a time reaching the correct conclusion.
That could be a universal problem for some unknown reason and could actually be the major reason why most of us don't agree with the judges' decision most of the time.

He'll get smoked by my guy Herb Nordheimer or friend of Squadfather...Mike Barbarato.
-Block!

Agreed, Ron.
In his favor is the fact that two weeks ago, he competed in and won the LHW class at the Atlantic states, right behind big Shawn Allen.
Most of the judges who judged there will be judging in Chicago, so they will see improvement.
Also, Manion and Weinberger judged him at the CT, and they gave him favorable reviews.
He defeated some very tough comp in CT.

Time will tell.
He's only 29, so he has time. Either way, I feel his day will come.

improvements "can" be important....it all comes down to the physiques onstage that day....and they will be scored accordingly
improvements do not earn points....they can however catch the judges attention and get u better callouts...
