depends on a lot of factors. What do you work (or do you work at all?), how is your diet etc...

Personally, i feel the best on a 4 day split, but occasionally go on a 5 day split.

Trainingwise, i haven't had any bad results from a 2 part split done 3 times a week. (ABA-style)

thats exactly what im doing. U dont have any overlap and u can hit everything hard and heavy and give it plenty time to recover.

+ working tris after chest and bis after back saves time too, since you only have to do half as much for them. They're warm and already halfway done 8)

I have a 2 on 1 off 2 on 2 off
And my split is all scrambled but mostly

Chest
Back
Delts
Arms

I do legs every other friday and will add a few sets of arms to chest\ and or back day if i'm up for it (they lag)

Personally, I've found training 3 days a week to be the best. I got this routine from Dorian Yates book and it was the rountine he used for 4 years in the lead up to his first crack at the British Championships in '86.

Basically it was a 2 day split:

Workout One

Chest
Back
Delts
Abs

Workout Two

Thighs
Hamstrings
Calves
Biceps
Triceps

Both workouts took approximately 60 mins

And the split was like this:

Week One

Monday.........Workout One
Tuesday........Rest
Wednesday....Workout Two
Thursday.......Rest
Friday...........Rest
Saturday.......Workout One
Sunday.........Rest

Week Two

Monday.........Workout Two
Tuesday........Rest
Wednesday....Rest
Thursday.......Workout One
Friday...........Rest
Saturday.......Workout Two
Sunday.........Rest

It's a brutal routine, and is both physically and mentally demanding, but the results will speak for themselves.
