I know Axle is crazy, but damn he can write some great songs. 

I think too many people want to compare everything GNR does to Appetite, which I consider the best hard rock album of all time...that isn't fair.  Compared to most of the shit that's out now, this album kills them.  I've heard there is already enough songs for two more albums.  The industrial sound, I can understand to sort of modernize the sound, but I prefer the stuff on Chinese that is more pure rock sounding.

People were stupid for expecting a 'Guns and Roses' album.

Poor comparison but if Paul McCartney doing a Beatles album people would be pretty disappointed.

Actually a great comparison.  Ironically, McCartney is one of Axle's musical heros.

So King's of Leon is pretty good?  If you like GNR and recommend it, I might pick it up too.

I saw them once in Germany at an outdoor show.  Soundgarden and Faith No More were the lead in bands.  It was awesome.  Axle's voice was on and they played for about 2 hours.   We shoved our way to within 20 feet of the stage.  Yes, ugly Americans that day.  8)
