It would have had to be in the 70's I think. Thats Skandar Akbar and Percy Pringle.

hmm it had to be around 89-90 not sure I am 23 and have watched wrestling since I was like 5-6

For some reason the pic of Hornswagle is so funny.

It reminds me, my dad said when he was on the road he would always try to get the midgets booked on a floor at the hotels where the elevator buttons where at the top.  And they would have to stack their suit cases if no one was around so they could press the buttons.

Mr. Wrestling Tim Woods.  He was my first favorite wrestler as a very small kid.

hahah, good story Andy.  My brothers, their friends and me were always wrestling.  One of my brothers loved Dusty Rhodes and he was forever delivering the bionic elbow !! I remember the knee lift from Mr. Wrestling....I remember Mr. Wrestling II used it as well.

One of the few times that the “commercial” WWF machine acknowledged wrestling life outside the WWF was in 1987 at WM III.
Monsoon & Jesse were calling Piper and Adonis’ match when Gorilla at one point commented in regards to Adrian, “…as we look at the former tag-team partner of Jesse ‘the Body’ Ventura.”

That one line set up Jess for his comeback, “I gotta new tag-team brewin’ - the Barry team: Braverman & Bloom out in LA.”
This was a reference to Jesse’s new Hollywood friends/representation at a time when Jesse really thought his acting career was about to take off.
It may have also been a nod to Vince that Jesse didn’t need WWF (or wrestling) as badly as the other guys.

It would later turn out that he was right - albeit for different reasons.

some more hints:
He’s a Fed HOF inductee.
He worked predominantly in the WWWF as a regular on Studio Wrestling.
He held both the WWWF tag & U.S. tag belts.
Retired from active "competition" in 1984, and passed away earlier this year.

And yes, Mr. Scicluna passed away this past March.

My buddy went to school with Scicluna's kid.
He said that, one day, he and a friend were acting like assholes and got sent down to the principal’s office.
While they’re waiting outside the door, “Big Mike” walks in wearing a suit and hat.

Being the avid Studio Wrestling fans that they were, my buddy & his friend instantly recognized “the Baron.”
Anyway, Mr. Scicluna walks up to the secretary’s desk, reaches into his pocket, and removes some money, which he places onto the table.
All he said was, “This money is for my son.”
Then, he turned and started walking away.

The secretary calls over, “Sir, who is your son?”
Mikel stops cold, whips around, hit’s a most muscular (in his suit), and loudly bellows - in character, “SCICLUUUUUUUUUUUUUNAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!”
Then he turned around and continued walking out.
The secretaries were speechless.
Meanwhile, the two kids were laughing so damn hard, they were crying, while one of them actually fell out of his chair.

That pick was phenomenal. Just goes to show you how big Superstar (or any wrestler for that matter) was. Dwarfing Arnold and benching a legit 6 plates per side at a time when steroids were not suffisticated like today.

I presume it consisted of primarily D-bol, and maybe test - at least early on.

Superstar had superior genetics in two departments:
1. Building muscle
2. Synthetic hormone response.

Those, combined with his dedication & discipline, put his physique ahead of everyone else at that time.
Even by today’s standards, he was phenomenal!

I never heard him talk about his usage. I imagine he took boatloads of what little was available back then. I never saw his "Tangled Ropes" DVD yet. Maybe he gets into it on there...if Vince allowed him to discuss it.

I know in Bret Hat's book, he discussed how wrestlers would all line up backstage to see the "Doc" Zahorian and get a quick medical check and then walk away with little white boxes of their drugs of choice. Hart said he would get his blood pressure checked and then get his 20 vials of Deca Durablolin and 20 vial of Test Cyponiate and some sleeping pills. Now that's just Brett Hart. Imagine what a Hogan or Warrior white box must have contained.

Pillman rocked. That motercycle accident did him in. His left foot wan pretty much mangled to the point where exxcisive amounts of painkillers were needed just for him to function day to day. I felt bad for the guy. Any of you fine gents watch the Brian Pillman dvd? It came out a while ago bud I never had a chance to buy it.
