Title: Jon Jones - Good Grief
Post by: Dball on February 03, 2009, 09:34:43 AM
Did you guys see that kid?  Who in the world is Jon Jones?  What a performance.  He absolutely destroyed Bonnar.  Those suplexes were something out of the Ohio State wrestling book.  That kid is gonna go far.

I couldn't understand Bonnar's strategy. On their feet, Jones continually tossed him around and was even beating him in striking, yet, Bonnar seemed hellbent to get back up every time he hit the ground. He had just stayed on his back, he might've subbed the bjj inexperienced Jones.

I have no doubt that Jones will be a UFC title holder with some more experience under his belt. With better BJJ skill and strength training this kid will be a force not to be reckoned with.

Bonner is and has always nothing but hype!  He may train under the Gracie lineage, but you couldn't prove it.  I've never seen him work subs on the ground.  He may try something every now and then, then go immediately to guard.  He never trys to transition into a submission.  IMO he looks awkward.  And he must have been a Golden Gloves champ in his hometown.

im glad boner lost, hes living off his 1st forest fight, thats his claim to fame.other then that hes alittle arrogant and ive never liked his style, jones seems humble and its really to early to say if hes gonna be a champ or not but hes gonna be a force for sure.imo a guy needs at least 3 or 4 fights against ranked opponants before you can tell if hes championship material, lesnar was a fluke imo.dana pushed lesner cause hes trying to steal all the wwe fans and bring them to the ufc, danas not dumb

Sounds accurate to me man.... I'm pretty excited to see what Jones makes of himself.

 Who do you train with?
