i worked security in a place called (central) on stienway st in queens new york afew years ago,i also worked security at afew brazilian nightclubs in downneck newark new jersey where im from,once i got married my wife didnt want me doing it no more.i miss the brazilian broads and the yeyo up my nostrils ;)

I did it for about 11 years - had some good times on there but had fair share of bad ones too as I was stabbed on 2 seperate occasions and been on doors where me and the lads were shot at more than 5 occasions lol - Working in Gunchester....er I mean Manchester UK can be hazerdous to your health lol.

i did it for about 2 months in 89. then i realized that the DJ made 3 times as much and didn't have people smashing beer bottles on his head, so I did that instead. never wanted to be a bartender, I don't like serving people.

a decent bouncer should be no less than 6"0 and must play the role well. I know a Club down in Miami where the 4 bouncers are 6'6 or above and they look scary as shit. I heard they barely had problems at this club.....hahahhahaha

Thank you for pointing this out - we had 3 drive bys in as many months. Though the gangland culture is by far smaller than say in the USA it was enough for me say fuck this for a game of soldiers and called it a day. The problem we had on the door is that this place was frequented by all the Manchester gangs from Donnington, Gooch, The Pitbull Crew, Salford,Cheetham Hill and the moment you knocked any of them back the took it as a sign of disrespect and wouldnt hesitate it pulling out a piece and making there stance known.....now I dont know about you fuckers but the only man that im aware of who can dodge bullets is a man who has a red cape, blue tights and a big fucking S symbol on his chest. I dont fit that description so I got out of dodge while I didnt have any extra holes put in my body lol.

I worked in a club with a bunch of hotheads that basically pissed off to many people until the crowd just died and they closed down..
Bounce two clubs in philly after that but the clubs were to big and you felt like a janitor after the night was over taking out hundreds of beer bottles and hosing down garbage cans moving tables and chairs etc.
The pay was 80 a night but i didnt get home till 4 in the morning, missed a lotta meals cause i also have full time job .... job kinda sucked except for the random pussy i would bang here and there.
I basically thought i could behave myself on a friday night and get to the gym saturday and party saturday night instead of being fucked up all wknd. Basically i got less sleep and ate less food and lost size.. I started the job fuckin jacked and left kinda skinny 6 months later.

$80 a night !?! I was pulling in minimum $250 a night, some nights $500-1000, then again during those times I was basically babysitting celebrities and sports teams and helping them get their 'extra' things like coke and perk's :) amazing how well some of these rich bastards tip.

anymore you'll find little twerps working the door, cause they're less intimidating, plus most owners don't want to deal with the lawsuits, so most clubs anymore have a no hands on policy and just let the cops deal with it...... :-X

Depends on the environment........I had a lot of fun when i managed a titty bar cause i didn't have to do shit but count money and bang strippers, but when i worked at shit hole full of border jumpers with nothing to lose, i was fighting all the time...... plus i had to see one friend get shot and another stabbed, so after that it wasn't much fun..........Hell I'm still dealing with a a court case from 4 years ago from one of those incidents >:(

One of my buds that i worked with was a HA member and that fucker unloaded a whole clip and killed a guy in self defense time........he only got in trouble for carrying a gun while on probation...... the funny thing is when he got out 3 years he came up to have a beer and after we closed he stuck around and some beaners we threw out came back later that night a blasted a shot gun through our front door and he got hit by some shrapnel in the back and all i remember was him saying to the paramedic was FU I'm not laying on my back on dead people lay on their back hahahaha I swear he was back in the gym 2 days later......tough fucker he was until he flipped and now he's dead in witness protection.

I was a bouncer for little over four years (straight out of the army) and now i do private security. I mostly worked in metal bars here in Helsinki, Finland. I made awesome money out of it, but got tired of fighting speed freaks and mental patients...

I was a bouncer at Tequilla Willies from 1983 to around 1986. It was the #1 night spot in the South Bay. It was awesome. A lot of bodybuilders came in along with Hollywood type and the Raiders all came in all the time. At the beginning I was making $600 a week for working 5 to 6 hours a night. It was a great job and FREE food. The other guys would always order 12 egg omelets and the cooks would always watch them eat them. Ron Gibson, Jim Flarety and Bob Sear worked there too. We were known (the bouncers) by everybody in the South Bay because we were the best team anywhere. Every club I ever went I never stood in line. and alot of times the manager or owner would offer me free drinks. To bad I didn't drink. It was unreal when someone caused shit and we took off our jackets. Everyone would just go crazy. People from all over the world would come in and ask for us by name because one of their friends came in when they were visiting. It was great there ad the management supported whatever we did. I was also a bouncer at Latitude 20 which was a Country Western Club. We got closed down because one of the other bouncers while we were kicking out some guys ended up pulling a guy out by his hair and it literally came out and this guy was bleeding everywhere. It looked like someone chopped the top of his head off. Filled in at numerous other clubs around the South Bay (Southern California). When I moved to Hawaii and was working as the marketing director at Gold's in Honolulu at night I worked at the #1 strip club in Hawaii "Club Rockza" On Friday and Saturday nights we would have 30 to 40 girls working at a time. Most girls made at least $500 a night and quite a few made over $1000. I made $300 a night there working 9pm to 2am. Another great job. Interesting perks

The WEIRD policy here is that unless the bar/night club is insanely big, you work there alone and most of the owners here are from Asia. Since they really have no education or anything they pretty much have to start their own business and they FUCK the local IRS big time, then close the bar and start a new one. I was allways a very friendly bouncer as I'm also a pretty laid back guy, but when the shit hit the fence you had to be down with it all. There's no second place in a dark bar alley...
I usually worked for 6 hours a night and made between 150-300 € per night (300€ is allmost 500 $).
I think that this one incident that has burned in to my soul was this young guy who was OD:ing and his girlfriend was standing next to him and screeming. The Metal bar owner from Bangladesh said to me: "just ditch him somewhere!" And i told him that's not the way we do things IN THE REAL WORLD! Anyway the guy was on multiple recreational drugs + on a shitload of medication. He was not breathing and his heart beat was very low. Once i made the 911 call and started CPR and got this guy back in the real world his first words were:
"FUCK YOU!"
PS. So there... I have a million stories like this and it's just not worth it.

like someone said,its all about whos got your back,if your working with some experianced,thorough security guys your gonna feel more stable.everyone i worked with was a renzo gracie bjj trained guy,i knew them from renzos academy and knew they could handle things if anything got ugly.ive worked in other clubs in jersey where the other bouncers where not paying attention to the crowds and leaning over talking to broads all night,thats not the type of guys you want watching your back.nothing wrong with kicking it with some hot broads but your eyes have to stay glued to your section ans also watching to see if your fellow bouncers flashlight is flicking on and off,which means theres an incident either going down or ready to go down.my philosiphy always was to try to diffuse the tension before a fight broke out,i would stay calm with a drunk,pissed off guy and talk to him cool and be nice,alot of times it worked,alot of times it didnt,when it didnt we just usually sunk in a rnc or side arm choke and escorted the guy outside and sat him down on a porch away from the club.ive never liked working with bouncers that where just waiting for the smallest excuse to pound some drunk guy half to death,thats not professional and eventually youll do it to the wrong cat and get capped leaving the club after work one night

like someone said,its all about whos got your back,if your working with some experianced,thorough security guys your gonna feel more stable.everyone i worked with was a renzo gracie bjj trained guy,i knew them from renzos academy and knew they could handle things if anything got ugly.ive worked in other clubs in jersey where the other bouncers where not paying attention to the crowds and leaning over talking to broads all night,thats not the type of guys you want watching your back.nothing wrong with kicking it with some hot broads but your eyes have to stay glued to your section ans also watching to see if your fellow bouncers flashlight is flicking on and off,which means theres an incident either going down or ready to go down.my philosiphy always was to try to diffuse the tension before a fight broke out,i would stay calm with a drunk,pissed off guy and talk to him cool and be nice,alot of times it worked,alot of times it didnt,when it didnt we just usually sunk in a rnc or side arm choke and escorted the guy outside and sat him down on a porch away from the club.ive never liked working with bouncers that where just waiting for the smallest excuse to pound some drunk guy half to death,thats not professional and eventually youll do it to the wrong cat and get capped leaving the club after work one night
Bro, no offense, but all the JJ guys I've seen bouncing got their asses ha nded to them, Jiu Jitsu is not made for handling multiple drunk opponents at one time, esp. at a club, muay thai or boxing is much better for handling several guys at one time, as soon as a JJ guy goes to the ground (which is what JJ is based on) it's over for the JJ guy cause he's catching boots to the head from buddy's friends, end of story.

There was a football game of the Deaf league and the teams and supporters (Belfast and doncaster) were in my bar at the weekend.
Fuckers wouldnt budge at end of night. So annoying. Girls were so hot.
Anyway at end of night they started fighting and shit and then around 20 cops with batons came beating teh shit out of each other.
It was so frustrating teying to get these people out i can only imagine how the cops would have felt trying to talk to deaf drunk upset people

i dont remember saying anything about going to the ground,if you knew anything about bjj you would know that you can choke a guy out or put him in many different submissions holds from the standing position,we never take a person down in a club.we just lock them in a choke hold or standing arm lock and escort them outside.also we where told we cannot strike any occupants cause of lawsuits and other legal issues.

It's actually a misconception that bjj is strictly a ground fighting martial art. Unfortunately most of the bjj schools don't teach the self-defense part, but, it still exists.

After i left that particular METAL BAR i was on very good terms with the "customers" there where allways some junkie who could not handle his liquor so i usually just carried them away, so once they realized that they were outside the bar they wondered off.
OK, so after i left the "customers" thought that the new bouncer was of the same sort of guy as me, you know (don't start anything and there won't be anything)... Well he wasn't, he was this Ukrainian boxer who had a few screws loose from the "humane" Russian army.
So first night some easy going pot head comes in and thinks he can shoot the shit whit him like he was able to do with me. Long story short: "he opens his mouth, the word GORILLA comes out as does the right cross from that Ukrainian guy)... Ever since that first night the owners wanted me back and i said: "too little, too late."
