Why is Palin such a big deal? Got mail the other day from the Democrats about wanting to stop Palin killing polar bears or something. McCain lost months ago and people still talk about her.

she started a political action committee an started attending black-tie dinners of the washington elite.

she will be running in 2012 for repub nod, and she just might win it.  Republicans tend to nominate a right wing extremist in the election following a blowout.  Hopefully they'll be smart in 2012 and deliver a very strong moderate who can do a good job.
