Title: Thinking about new pup--mini schnauzer

First time owner too.. doing research and kinda like mini schnauzers..  anyone have feedback?

They don't shed  :) but need to be trimmed around the eyes (blunt nose scissors) and around the mouth and maybe a short clipping once or twice a year.  Probably should brush them often to prevent matting.  Otherwise low maintenance.  Haven't seen one in years.  Growing up, a girlfriend had 2. Schatzie and Heidi (how original  :P)  They were gray in color and needed some weight management  :D

A neighbour of mine had one (giant schnauzer)...........ended up getting it "de-barked"  :-\

also, are schnauzers known barkers?

Yep.......very controversial procedure. I think it's illegal in most places (i'm in Sydney, Australia).

If i remember correctly, a family friend had one (mini) and it was very "vocal" and a bit snappy (biting)
