I wonder if there'll be a bunch of posts about the singer being black. :)

Black Gives Way to Blue is the upcoming fourth studio album by the American rock band Alice in Chains, which is due for release on September 29, 2009.[3] Not only will it be their first album in nearly fourteen years since the release of the self-titled album, but it is also their first release with new vocalist William DuVall, the replacement of the late Layne Staley. Black Gives Way to Blue also marks the first Alice in Chains album released on Virgin Records, their first venture away from Columbia, who released all of their previous releases.
The span of nearly fourteen years between the self-titled album and Black Gives Way to Blue marks the longest gap between studio albums in Alice in Chains' career. The band had been working on new material since early 2006,[4] shortly before hiring DuVall as their new singer. By April 2007, Alice in Chains had been writing and demoing songs for the album,[5] but the band did not show further signs of progress until October 2008, when they announced that they had begun recording with producer Nick Raskulinecz (of Foo Fighters, Stone Sour and Rush fame) in the studio.[1] The writing and recording process was finally finished on March 18, 2009, guitarist Jerry Cantrell's 43rd birthday.[2] The album's projected release date, September 29, 2009, will mark 17 years to the day of the release of the band's second studio album, Dirt.

DuVall befriended musician Jerry Cantrell in 2000. Quickly becoming Cantrell's go to man, DuVall has performed with Cantrell on tour and multiple shows, including Cantrell's band Alice in Chains, which DuVall is currently fronting in place of Layne Staley, who died of a drug overdose on April 5th 2002.

Among the many highlights on "Black Gives Way To Blue" is a special guest performance by Elton John. The two rock legends collaborated on the album's stunning title track, "Black Gives Way To Blue", a heart-stirring tribute to ALICE IN CHAINS' late lead singer Layne Staley.
Fans and members of the press heard "Black Gives Way To Blue" in its entirety at a private listening party in Los Angeles on July 14, followed by a three-song acoustic set by the band in which it debuted two songs from the album live — the title track and "Your Decision".
On August 22, band will join TOOL and LINKIN PARK for the first-ever Epicenter show at the Fairplex in Pomona, CA, to be followed by a headlining tour set to kick off September 4 at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C.

Sometimes I think Vai is getting owned in this clip, and other times I like his solo better

Andy is no slouch so yeah, he could definitely own some greats every now and then. Besides, I think Vai was just taking it easy. He wasn't as flamboyant as his normal self in that video.

Not Jerry's best work.
