Melvin Manhoef has signed a multi-year agreement with Strikeforce, the promotion announced Wednesday.
At 23-6-1, Manhoef is regarded as one of the top strikers in MMA. He has spent much of his career in Japan, fighting in both MMA and kickboxing. The 33-year-old resident of Amsterdam holds a knockout win over Mark Hunt, a stoppage of Kazushi Sakuraba and numerous other highlight-reel finishes.
Most recently he battered Paulo Filho at Dream 10 before submitting to an armbar. The loss was indicative of Manhoef’s strength on the feet and weakness on the ground.
Manhoef’s thrilling February 2006 win over Evangelista Santos also made Sherdog.com’s recent list of five unforgettable brawls.

I'm pretty sure he's gonna be at 185. That would suit him better anyway, I would like to see him vs. Lawler or Cung Le. He was supposed to replace Benji Radach against Lawler at the next Strikeforce but they went with Trevor Prangley instead.
