Title: The Brain honored last week
Post by: mass 04 on December 07, 2009, 03:00:35 PM

Glad to see he still has his sense of humor. It was hard to see him like this, but hopefully he gets well soon.

He'd been doing really well for the first couple of years after his cancer treatment.
Although it sounds like his speech has gotten significantly worse since I saw him last.

One thing about The Brain:
I've never heard or read one negative comment (non-kayfabe) from anyone who's ever worked with, known, or in any other way been associated with him.
His good friend Baron Von Raschke was another one.

Real class acts.

Good luck Bobby!

He recently had jaw reconstruction surgery, so he's slowly coming back. I dont have enough good things to say about him.

This is the most current news I could find:

BOBBY HEENAN HOSPITALIZED
By Mike Johnson on 2009-12-11 17:07:41WWE Hall of Famer Bobby

Heenan has been admitted into the Tampa, FL based H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center after a scheduled examination of his rebuilt jaw found an infection that needed to be immediately treated.

Heenan, who was recently honored in Milwaukee, WI with 12/5 being proclaimed "Bobby Heenan Day", will miss his scheduled appearance at the K&S Wrestlefest event in New Jersey this weekend.

Heenan will be hospitalized until the infection can be eradicated due to the nature of his medical background, as his jaw was rebuilt due to infections stemming from his cancer treatment

On behalf of everyone at PWInsider.com, we'd like to send our best wishes to the Heenan family during this latest medical setback.

One of my favorite Brain moments was during the Hogan/Andre Mania press conference. Mean Gene was asking Andre questions, but he wouldn't answer. So, Mean Gene turns to the Brains and says, "He's not talking much." The Brain responds, "Yeah, maybe you should slap him around and see if you can get anything out of him."

You & me both. I loved and still love watching old Bobby Heenan clips. He is a classic. I feel bad for him. There is a recent pic of him on the net with King Kong Bundy at a wrestling convention where you can clearly see his face disfigured from the throat cancer and the numerous operations. Sad.

Damn, that's hard to look at. Poor guy.
And despite it all, he still has his witty sense of humour. Bobby was / is great.

It sounds as though the hardest emotional part of his cancer battle was in the very beginning.
Bobby has mentioned how, upon his initial diagnosis years back, he became a shut-in – just sitting alone in a dark room day after day.

It was his daughter who snapped him out of it with a bitter dose of reality.
Ever since that realization, he’s been himself (and at the top of his game at that) in dealing with all of this cancer horse shit.
