Laura,
1) How long did you stop training at the height of your sickness?
2) Do you feel you lost a lot of muscle? What about fat gain vs fluid gain?
3) How long did it take to lose the extra weight?
4) How long till you feel you regained your former muscularity and were able to work out intensely again?
Thanks :)

Hi Stella :)
hmmmm let's see...
1) I stopped training for about 10 months. As you know I first was hospitalized mid January of 08 and was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis and thyroid cancer. I started back into the gym at a slow pace mid October when my doctors told me I could.
2) Yeah, I lost most of my muscle, gained mostly water through my illness due to the high dosage of prednisone I was on. As soon as I was off that, the water weight and fullness came down.
3) I didn't start looking like myself until about February of 09 (which is when I really was able to start moving around more weight at the gym - training heavier).
4) In May of 09 I decided to do the Florida Championships Competition that was scheduled for August. By the time that rolled around, I think I looked the best I had ever looked....up until now. :)
Thank you Stella, for asking :)

Good for you Laura

Laura,
5) What's your current diet like?
6) How much cardio do you do per day?

Hi Jedi,
5) I rotate my carbs. I tried the no carb, fat diet but that doesn't work for me.
6) I do 45 minutes in the morning before breakfast (5am) and then another 30 minutes at night after training.
:)
Thanks Dee :D

I can do good with low carbs but no carbs is pretty tough especially if I have a long day.

I'm sure you carried your weight all over your body, mine was all in my stomach.
Point being...I never thought I would ever have defined abs...but I do.
