Title: Got schooled training yesterday
Post by: Coach is Back! on March 28, 2010, 04:30:55 PM
Trained with a powerlifter yesterday at our local military base, a powerlifter who trains westside style of training. Now, we do the same conjugate training exept we gear it towards athlets. I decided to train strickly powerlifting. After coming off a week of cold and flu with the cold still lingering, uncontrollable cough at times and not really training for about a month and a half. I went balls out on a lower half speed day, went something like this....

13 total sets box squats, 10 working set with thr green bands working to a single rep of 405 with band resistance.
6 speed sets DL with monster mini bands up to 315
Reverse hypers
KB swings
Finished with KB windmills.

Needless to say after a month and a half and being sick...I'm feeling it.

For developing explosiveness in my athletes it's extremely beneficial especially when it comes to speed.

Why not do push presses for speed. Shot putters do them and they are pretty fast...

How cute, I have stalkers? I talk about training and since very few have that conception of "training", I might as well be stalked for things totally unrelated...LOL! Pussys!
