I have noticed as of late, that the IFBB does not actually judge the bodybuilders against eachother; they only judge each individual bodybuilder with past versions of himself.
Case in point: Branch Warren 09 olympia. This was the best branch has ever looked, so they placed him high. The fact remains however that his physique is nowhere near the caliber of jackson, greene or heath but they still placed him above them because he was at a personal best.
Most recently: Dennis Wolf at the ny pro. Yes he was not as good as he was in 07 or 08, but he still destroys the tiny tits hidetada yamagishi and roelly winklaar any day of the week. Those midjets are nothing compared to the A.ryan bastard.
Other examples: Gunter Schlierkamp 02 olympia. He placed 4th or 5th? Way above guys with better physiques than him, but he was at an alltime best so he was placed ahead.
Atleast the NABBA has legit judging. The best man on stage actually wins the show. IFBB is all politics

Because scrutinizing men in thongs is serious bidness......

That's true, it is almost as if they are picking certain athletes to promote and others to hold down, sort of like the WWE, lol.
Branch Warren is mega popular, Heath is the guy they are pushing along with Greene. Cutler is their Hulk Hogan right now, or more specifically someone that they want to have Arnold's popularity.
That's the whole 'gotta knock out the champ' mentality. If it was obvious, like in the 07 Olympia, even the guys reading Flex for the first time would catch on.
The thing is that it is debatable for every single person to win the contest since they are all so close and so many objective criteria comes into play that no one notices.
Just look at Yates winning the Olympia all of those years or Lee Priest never getting what he deserved unless it was a smaller contest. Hell, the 202 class is a way to promote the rising stars like Flex Lewis and appease the supplement companies that use them, thus everyone makes money.
In short, it is all showbiz apparently. I hope I am wrong.
