Title: Alternatives to A-cohol?
Post by: Master Blaster on September 05, 2010, 10:22:39 PM
I love my wife and kids but honestly I don't know how long they would live if I didn't have a decent buzz going after I got home from work.  ;D

I'm looking to drop some pounds this winter and want to drink less, any suggestions for an OTC or grey market supp to keep me melow and non violent?  :)

Not too interested in percs or vickes, hate vicoden and percs are too hard to find. Kava Kava seems hard to find as well? Weed is OK but I'd rather not do it more than once or twice a week. Any suggestions?

Maybe go to a doc and get some xanax or something along those lines...not sure if one would prescribe it based on you needing a substance to deal with your family but if there is an anxiety issue or whatnot you might get a script that way.

If you have 3 or 4 kids crying at once you will want to pound your own face repeatedly on a brick wall.   :)

Ya I've passed on the wife and kids thing so far so I can only imagine what its like.

From a bodybuilding standpoint alcohol makes it a lot harder to reach you max potenitial if your consuming it regularly.

You mentioned you don't like hydros/vicodin which is good cause it is known to lower test levels...best advice I can give ya is to see what prescrips you might be able to get...just don't get hooked by relying on it to get you through day to day life...let it be your last resort.

Yep, that's what my Doc gave me when I was going through a divorce and had have a job that has me working 14hr days...they are great except that it's not a long term fix, they can be addictive and if you get up to a 1mg / 2mg dosage (2mg being REALLY high) and just try to stop cold turkey it can stop you from breathing.

30-60 day supply is the most you'll get I'm betting.

XANAX.
I've been using it for eight years 1-4 mg per day. Usually 2 mg per day, but i'm seriously fucked up... :D :D :D

Holy crap 4mg per day!!! Wow. I know the doc's say it's highly addictive but damn bro..that would kill most! Cheers.

In all honestly though...pills, alcohol, weed and all that are just masking the real issue = Stress Management / Coping abilities. Re-evaluate your routine maybe. My wife knew that I went to the gym for at least an hour after work as my "de-stressing" tool.

If you don't workout ..like 80% of GB that post on this site... communicate with the wife that after work you're stressed and on edge and you need to "enter activity here" (play your PS3 / Xbox) for an hour just to "calm down" so you don't bring your work stress home and out on everyone.
