Impressive or not?

Not impressive.
1/4 squat.
I used to be a huge fan of going well below parallel, but I now don't believe it is necessary, and was holding my gains back.
However, I still think the tops of the thighs have to be at least parallel, which means your squat would pass in any PL federation.
Sort of like what Randall Strossen recommends in the book "Super Squats".
Great book, btw.

This...
With 4/4 squat he will do 300lbs max or lower with lower reps.
-
The first 4 or 5 were "ok" but ole boy got more and more shallow as he went along....
-
Not bad. Not good. About par for a gym. Would benefit a lot by taking a plate off aside and getting that extra inch or two of depth - let the thighs really take the load, rather than the hips.

Yes! No bullshit! I like how he comes down the stairs, does his set, and hightails it back up the stairs. Probably has to get back to fighting crime. ;D

Have you heard about all those elderly japanese that they could not find? It's not because of problems with recordkeeping.....muscle center was sent to "take care of the age problem."

Good record keeping!? Ha! All those 'respectable' Japanese keeping Ma and Pa's pensions going, even tho their ages are listed as, like, 130? That's fraud on an national scale of which Italy would be proud. ;D

If you want to save your knees you go parallel or below.

I'm guessing there won't be any volunteers to commit hari kari over this one. The story I read had the census people going to congratulate Tokyo's oldest man at 111 only to find his mummified body in one of the son's rooms. Boy, was kyomu's face red. ;D

Thanks,
But I injured my right leg last year, and now squat 60 kgs only :'(
You guys can see my legs looks smaller than last year.

Coach, I agree with you.
However, I now believe (and I could be wrong) that there is such a thing as going "too low". It is at this point that I can't keep everything "tight", for lack of a better word. Things seem to go lax, and was actually irritating my right knee (which I strongly suspect was a hip issue).

I have always gone below parallel....knees arent the greatest now. I really wonder if that is totally true though.....you dont think there is some "wear and tear" done to them with below parallel?
