Lets say you have a good job, working hard every day, like 10 hours a day. the pay is really good, but you are completely exhausted by the time you get home to even think about working out.
so you really cut back on working out. would you take an easier job (like 6 hours a day and not as demanding) in order to start working out again full time?
the difference? about a 40% cut in pay.
(ie. go from 250k, down to 160k... or go from 80K down to 50k)... thoughts?
-
No
next question.....
-
only if its to live in a van behind Gold's gym aka 'living the mother effing dream' ....
-
Of course. Women care about one thing...MUSCLE MASS. They could care less about a guy with a good job, financial stability, or a sound future. It's about size, nothing else.

no what?
keep getting paid, and just workout on the weekend?
-
Mostly yes, but I would still have to be able to afford a descent lifestyle. 50 k a year hear is alright but I wouldn't do that in any major city.
-
'working hard 10 hours a day' is no way to live. fuck that. whats the point of living if your entire days are spent working? time is ultimately more important than money

not even if you were pulling in 250k? (hypothetically speaking)

bodybuilding is inextricably tied in to my mental health, cause i have insecuritya nd image issues
so yes, it would be worth it for me to make less money in exchange for being able to keep lifting

even if you took a 50% paycut?

what good would that money be if you spent all your waking hours on the job

i could MAYBE sustain that lifestyle for a year tops. id save as much as i could and hold out as long as i could but i for one cannot live like that, its too taxing on my mental and physical health.
-

pay off the mortgage in 3 years and retire at age 45. those are some pros.
-
even if you took a 50% paycut?
depends how much i was making to begin with
if i was only making 50,000 $..............no
but if i was making 400,000.........yeh, i woudl drop to 200,000 to be able ot work out
-
i would take a pay cut just to move closer to a really good restaurant....i have actually done this...

you asked if you would take a pay cut to keep working out.....my response is "No"
If you work 10 hours days, 7 days a week....you should be looking for another job anyway, regardless if you have the time to "workout" or not.
If money is a priority in your life..then no, dont take a paycut.
If you can make enough by working less because you want to workout...then yes....work less and workout.
pretty simple if you ask me.
why not work and nut up and workout as well?

24 hours in a day.........10 working......"45minute workout" (pussies).....that leaves 13:15 for posting on getbig........WTF is the problem here ???

No I'd fucking workout when I'm not working. It's that easy. Get hardcore or go home, pansy.
This is deep in the trenches, this is where men are seperated from the boys, this is ANIMAL! Can you handle it? Apparently not bro...

Money isnt everything.
Believe me, your health is alot more important.

there-in lies the rub, bodybuilding, isnt rally very healthy

One can work 10 hours a days, train hard and still have a life.
Get your shit together ::)
work 8-6
train 7-830
free time 9-1130
Weekends free.
If you want to make real money accept the fact that you're going to have to put in the time it takes to get the job done. And don't give me the one random example of someone you know who works little and makes big money. 99% of successful people have two things in common... They work hard AND they play hard.
-
Money isnt everything.

thanks Plato....
you can have both you know. and more importantly, the more money you have, the more potential you have to be healthy. Healthy foods, insurance, regular doctors visits, gym memberships, etc, etc aint free .....
money = better standard of living

250k for 10 hours everyday = $68.50/hr. This is not really good pay for a completely exhausting job. Also, anyone who has ever worked an exhausting job knows it's not exhausting forever. You adapt.

remember.....bodybuildin g is ALL about heath

I work for 10 hours a day (5 days a week) and I train for 60-120 minutes a day on my working days.
Moreover, I used to work for 12 hours a day ( shift worker 7-2-7-3 style) and kept training for 60-90 minutes a day.
10hrs= Working
8hrs= Sleeping
2hrs= Working out
4hrs= playing around
Seriously, What is the big fucking deal..?! ???
-
there-in lies the rub, bodybuilding, isnt rally very healthy
Well I'm not talking about bodybuilding.
Im just talking about being healthy in general............i.e.. .......eating healthy clean foods and exercising on a regular basis, living a long life.
Thats alot more important than money.

thanks Plato....

sure you can have both. but there is a point where your job can negatively impact your health.
and no amount of money is more important than your health.

I workout 3 days a week during my break at work. My workouts go about 25 minutes. 2 cardios and 1 weight workout a week ( pick 3 exercises). No way I'd take a pay cut to workout. If you don't screw around and just keep lifting workouts don't take very long, and are necessary for health.
-
10h a day?
lol, 250k is enough to motivate me to SMILE after work :P :D... I would eat before I get off from work and take gym equipment with me and go to the gym.
Secondly you can party at weekends anyway, it's illeagal to work too many days a month, it's the law, this ain't china ::)
-
Just do what I did and get a woman that makes good money and stay at home. Then you have as much time to do what you want. :D

My goal is to work 6 hours a day 7 days a week. That way I still got time for my hobbies singing/guitar gym/ world knowitall etc. I'd even drop less depending on the situation,
Let just say your car cost about 1/3 of your salery after taxs. I'd rather take a 1/3 cut in pay and just not have a car.
I know this might make me seem like some crazy nut, but where I live you don't need a car if you live and work in the right part of town.
This need to have a car in some insecure illogical unhealthy preverse obsession in western culture.
-
No. I'd take the money and retire 15 yrs sooner. Oh wait, I forgot I'm already a Getbig billionaire ;)
-
No, I wouldn't. I do work a 10 hr day but your question doesn't address days off. I work 6a to 4p 4 days a week with 3 days off. On one of the days off I will work a 8 hr or 6 hr overtime assigment for extra money. I still find time to hit the gym 5 days a week for an hour a day. No matter how tired I am or exhausted, once the workout begins, I feel better
-
Instead of a paycut. Take the extra money your making and drop a few grand in an awesome home gym.

Lol that's a clever answer however I got alot more interest than just lifting weights.

Not for gut busting work all day long. Mind you, I'm in Australia and the cost of living and earnings are higher than the US (nevermind the recent dollar parity). You'll be searching high and low here for a tradesman charging under $45/hr and $70 is nothing outrageous.
Those three are surely north of $200/hr if they're any good.

Google some tradesmen in Australia and ask them what they charge... if you can afford the phone call. ;D

Lol, except I'm Asian.......Not lazy, it's just our culture to not let our kids get raised by nanny's or babysitters. That's why as a culture we don't have as many in jail, jobless or dumb as fuck. Also Asian families make more money average per year than any other in the US. So yeah.....epic Asian genetics.......

Yes. Free time is more important to me than money.
-
true.
i was even thinking about taking a day off just to relax and sruf the net if you know what i mean! ;D
-
i need about 10 hours to dedicate to sleepy time since im a super light sleeper who wakes up all the fucking time, plus you have to factor in time to get ready plus the commute to and from work which can total easily another 2 hours of your day, and then theres the fact that working for more than 3 hours in a row my mind literally shuts itself down and goes into hibernate mode...fuck it.
haha ive know people that work 2 jobs, bring in a good income, have a nice house and a big tv etc...aaaand about 5 hours a week to actually do anything with it :-X
