man
even the real deal was all drugs
looks like 200 pounds 50yrs old not so genetic gifted guy
-
All heroin and fried chicken.
Did he ever officially announce retirement?
-
Damn, he looks old as shit. Funny how Flex who needed a kidney has a babyface and this dude is who...just damn.
-
Not at ease - his tit body gives him the worries.
-
What a shifty farker. Guy looks like he cases every room he walks into.
-
Does he still calls himself "real deal"? poor chris.. ;D
-
I still think he's carrying decent size for a natural.
-
Torn tricep...done.

Heard he was one of the more honest guys when it comes to the info.
-
kfc for dinner

thought chris had a BBQ joint back home. he should have tried to expand that biz or got muscle maker girl like vic. now...he is back in venice trying to re-live the dream at the end of the dream.
-
his head is huge for his body

It is really sad to watch the guys I grew up idolizing get old and fall apart over the years. Man you guys have NO idea how shitty it feels to realize that the best years of bodybuilding (to me anyway) not only came and went they came and WENT. Like it seems overnight Dorian Flex Cormier Ronnie etc were battling it out then WHAM they are all gone. Pretty depressing really. Chris needs to hang it up if he was considering a comeback. We cannot do this forever...

Comeback . . . ROFL
THE BEEF
-
Did he ever officially announce retirement?
Yeah, he did. I remember watching the live press conference on ESPN a few years back.
-
Yeah, comebacks, although romantic, are almost always a disaster. Chris hopefully understands this. But who knows? These dudes usually want to take another kick at the cat. In my opinion, Cormier was a great bodybuilder who wasted much of his talent pursuing the party lifestyle. Or so I have heard, time and time again.
Bodybuilding at the level he competed (and in this modern era) pretty much guarantees a best-before date. The drugs and hormones in such quantities absolutely cuts short the length of time one can be awesome, in size and strength. Slow and steady might not produce quite the same freakish results, but a person's ability to keep going at it, hardcore, is that much longer.
Powerlifters (of which I am one) can continue to train with brutal intensity and poundage long after the age of 40. I am proof. But I haven't used juice like these pro bodybuilders. Not that powerlifters don't juice up, of course, but it isn't the same, and unlike physique athletes, skin elasticity and such isn't a concern.
Anyway, yeah, Chris "The Real Deal" Cormier ... He doesn't look bad at all in this video, but he's obviously WAY down in size. But what else can be expected? The extremes they go to get that size are, well, extreme.
-
Chris Cormier is 44 (born 1967)

Steroids are just the finishing touch, the final 1%

Fucking pathetic that you even give a second thought to something like this.
You make me sick to my stomach.
-
Everyone's gotta get old sometime. Chris looks good for his age, so does Flex. Tom Prince is someone that looks kind of sad.

Add cormier to the rest of the guys who are nothing without juice.. it's getting to be quite a list now
-
Torn tricep...done.
Melvin Anthony tore his tricep, and he had a good run...and so did Kev---he tore a lat and a tri at the same time and competed in the O the same yr!
-
I saw Cormier not too long ago. Definitely down in size, but what do you expect??!! If he wanted to no doubt he could be back in shape in 6 weeks.
-
The funny thing is, Chris is still a riot - at the NPC Nationals, the man had a blast, had fun and enjoyed himself. Obviously, the bodybuilding career is in the past, but I think his record was top 5 in over 50 IFBB pro events. Not bad at all.
Chris would be a great commentator and still attracts a crowd and fans.

Sad but true

Chris is a man that likes his drugs.
and we're not talking anabolics either...
-
What a surprise! Another druggie shrinks down to size. ::)
-
Chris looked like he smoked a little marijuana before that video took place. High as fuck lol.I bet he was having a great time until the unexpected camera guy came along.
-
I don't understand the hate 8)
I like chris, he did everything every other bodybuilder did, but he did it with women... so...
... and if he's 50, he looks very young for his age, he has that "seen it all, done it all" look in his face. He trained super hard, but he wanted to do what for example I like to do, party and hook up with ladies 8)... just like top level soccer players can't be in 45minute game running shape all the time, bodybuilders can't hold on to the extreme muscle mass neither... and it seems to me chris cormier is just fine with himself, it's not like he's trying to hide.
and he didn't call himself "the real deal", it was the camera man, once again getbiggers twist the truth for the "humor" of it ::), you're like jersey shore, none of the cast crew really are what they make the viewers think they are, because they are acting and following a script for the anttention and "rep" power... But when noworries actually dies it's so sad all of a sudden :'(

He used to have a hat that said "Real Deal", and in Flex Wheeler's 1993 vid Hardbody, in the segment where Flex is training back, he introduces Chris, and says, "He call himself the 'Real Deal'." This was before Chris won his pro card, so Chris already had called himself that moniker

yes but I was talking about the video in this thread... he doesn't "still call himself" the real deal.

okay, forgot that...

He is aging faster than most. That is obvious. You can see what kind of lifestyle he's been living, its obvious.
Don't matter, just an observation. The last vid I saw he was puking his guts out in the UK at Dorians gym. I thought he was gonna make a big comeback (for sure this time???)
Him and Lee must be buds.
-
hmm..no income, no job, no contracts...I know, I will film a training "cum back" videos to let the schmoes know that I am still available.
let see if the idiots on the forums for all it

This is just to try and generate a buzz which hopefully will lead to some money.

shawn ray, berry demey, all of the old pros, a freaking joke.

What vids from 1993-93 are there of Chris pressing 405 on inclines? Because when you mention those three training together and "back in the day", that is the time period.
And now, Flex and Rico have moved on from moving mass weight...
-
Isn't there a Battle for the Olympia video where Cormier is doing 495 on inclines?
-
no, they have moved on from taking massive steroids. it was all a mirage. the whole bodybuilding scene. for some reason, watching cormiers update today put it all in persptive for me.
im almost 54, 250, still lifting heavy. i will put any of those douchbags to shame. nothing but hard work.
why did i give any of these douchbags any of my money. (when i bought a flex or mus.mag, they were sponsered, so they somehow got my money.)
-
i just remembered the i bought cormier dvd. what i loser i am.
GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK CORMIER. 39.00 PLUS SHIPPING
put a video of you now inclineing two plates for sets of 6. sell that to the bodybuilding crowd.
-
Isn't there a Battle for the Olympia video where Cormier is doing 495 on inclines?
Nope. That was four plates with partial rom and that was from BFO 99.
-
The fun begins at 1:40 - strong but the 200lbers are way out of his league.
-
I forgot which BFTO that was but he was getting a spot from the white guy that was working with Charles, but he did 405 for a strong set of 12 reps on the incline..Stopping the weight at the chin to keep tension on the upper pecs that's some serious strength.

Kevin... LEGIT strong man
-
Yeah, he was hailed as the strongest pro. Not even close. I mean, strong guy, sure, but what else besides his incline was crazy impressive? How about that squat pictorial with him doing 675 ... and the rep(s) sucked, anyway. Hell, for the era, Mike Francois would have eaten him alive if it was a contest of poundage moved.
And regardless of his one-time strength, it was mostly drugs. I am clean, weigh almost 300 (been lifting for 25 years) and would demolish these cats, big time.
-

Shawn Ray is no joke when it comes to Pound for pound strength
In his basic training tape "To The Extreme" he squats 500lb for 6 reps at the end of a gruelling leg workout

You don't think Dorian never took a day off hormones since he retired? Dorian is still solid and big but hardly clean.
This mythical clean yet still impressive former pro doesn't exist.

How much does 405 weight in the eyes of Flex Magazine? because there doesn't appear to be any real proof of this Chris pressing 405 like paper

Cormier is strong. Kevin is legit, he benches pretty much text book and is overall stronger on pressing and probably all other exercises as well.
As demostrated Levrone seems more athletically gifted as seen from his vids when it comes to overall physical strength, and athleticism.

Fencing walking commentary from you as usual. Be straight up GetBig style. Between the drugs, the After Party and the cell phn...Chris didn't reach his full potential. And now...he is all broke down looking and s##t for a black man in his early forties.

drug free huge and ripped and strong at 300 pounds! :o Holy shit another Getbig super warrior! :o
Do pray tell, are you versed in the deadly art of MMA?
Never said I was ripped, but I ain't a fat bastard, either.
Oh, and I have lived on and off with Ninja warriors throughout the years. 8)
P.S. I weighed 294 today in the gym. Again, not bodybuilding lean, but typical powerlifter shape. Perhaps somewhat leaner, relative to the fact I am not on any gear, whatsoever.
-
Do you own a cellphone?
Nope, never have. However, I will again be going over 700 in the squat in about seven weeks (on week five of a program, so ... ), so I will have a friend film it for you twigs.

looks about 215-220 lbs
is he training for a comeback or what (can't watch the video)
Here's whats on the video :
The Real Deal is broke, but luckily enough found a fan (client) who flew from Texas to pay him to get in shape for SEVERAL shows (now that will take months and lots of $$$$) wich Danny (the client) has no problem expending on the Real Deal Habits .
Oh, and forget about comebacks.

I feel the same way. I spent MEGA bucks on that FLEX bullsh!t! for years and now i'm really ticked i did! Its been 10 plus years of hard work, having trouble fitting through doorways and to me these guys are looking smaller to me everyday!

No he's not. kev has him beat. Those reps chris does are half ass reps. Watch Levrone in 97/98, he's doing 455 on flats like it was nothing. Goes to incline and does full reps right after for 6/8 and even a set of 455. I've seen chris train, he's strong, but nothing like Ronnie, levrone, or even mike o Hearn.

We cannot do this forever...
what you talking about friend?? what best year? its all in the drug you take and the lenght you been on the drugs,,you fellas need to complitely understand it,,
the reason you see his head grow to a mamooth size and body 195lb is because he was on so much gh for so long consistantly use it,,no 1 month no 3 months,,long long time,,this is only way to improve to the level he presented my friends,,,
dont you see its like this with anyone? it is the length you are on the drug and the consistancy of intake along the years,, you have fellas who ask gh15 so ok we take it 2 months we see christ real deals result? no friends,,you dont,,for the result of ifbb top or npc top you need first and formost consistancy of intake of legit gh ,,this is most matter ,,you need it for months on months over months ,,so you grow ,,you takle it for so long that your head actual grow and wont get smaller again ,,your body parts gorow see hands see head etc,,
mos of my pupil know all this but some still live illusion ,,this illusion will always be shut down by pictured such as this,,and there are many of them around,,
hgh and steroid is the most imporrtant drugs in bodybuild,,the duration and consistant of intake is even more inmportant ,,because you not going no pro with 2 month use of 4 iu ,,you need long time use conistant use,,so you can build your body mile by mile to the top,,many individual fail to realize it,,
we never go off drugs WE NEVER GO OFF DRUGS,,gh is the blood
gh15 approved

Cormier used to wrestle, but it was said by many bbers in the 90's that Cormier was one of the stronger ones...Kev was bencher and tore his pec doing 550-600. Cormier effed up his neck looking at some chick while doing squats
Cormier had the type of physique that one could visually keep adding weight to, he in my opinion could have easily carried 275 and still be aesthetically pleasing and freaky, he had better back detail than Levrone...he missed the boat.
-
mike o Hearn?? hahaha!
Yes, mike, maybe others can confirm this as well. Dude is strong and still is. Trains out there in Venice golds.

I am pretty sure he tried to get there tho, but I agree he could have been one of the great.
there is no way he couldn't have placed ahead of Cutler with enough drive and focus
-
Yes, mike, maybe others can confirm this as well. Dude is strong and still is. Trains out there in Venice golds.
I am NOT buying it dude doesnt look dense or strong at all.
-
This is what the 90's were all about...
Who the fuck is that moron standing next to him benching at 4:00. Maybe its just me, but if someone is standing there when I bench I get annoyed.
-
he does a better one on bfto 2001
like paper
chris stronger than kev

Not placing ahead of Cutler is what broke him---after that he placed behind Dex at the Arnold...basically he saw himself being replaced by youger and some cases inferior bbers, like Cutler. I have the Flex and Musclemags that covered Cormier's loses...he was better than Cutler, yet the writers came up with excuses. Cormier's past with Ahmo Hight and partying are the culprits that I blame.
He consisting came in shape, didn't blow his prep, great poser, had that ab pose, yet he wasn't going that crazy weight route---he was slowly adding weight. Aesthetically more pleasing than Kev or Ronnie...
Now he and Melvin Anthony can compete for biggest baby head.
-
Kevin was only strong on pressing movements from what ive seen ie bench, shoulders. And thats a really good curl for a guy his size too, mostly the big men curl that kind of weight.
-
Yeah, he was hailed as the strongest pro.
LOL Mike Francois!
Another beast all drugs!
Look at him now he weight no more than 170 pounds!

I see a pattern forming here. the only thing that genetics dictate in regard to bodybuilding is bone structure and muscle shape.
-
Lou Ferrigno did them seated in pumping iron. I don't think that's too impressive for a guy like Kevin...
And I say that because there's videos in youtube where men twice smaller do the same weight, with actually better form.
here's one

Drugs/Steroids are just the "FINISHING TOUCH"

At their age my grandfather who did manual work and never trained with weight one day in his life had more muscles than the current version of Francois and Prince right now!
-
Those were hammer curls, still crazy for such a little man though. Levrone was a small guy himself so him doing 100s is fairly impressive. That other dude in that vid is pretty strong too.

That guy is 230lb and drugged to the eyeballs, the form wasn't better either. But no i don't think its fantastic given the shit that Kevin was running.
-
Considering the drugs yeah. But him being a little man to begin with limits the amount of weight he can lift regardless of the drugs hes on.
I believe a guy by the same Scott Rechsteiner does legit 120lb dumbbell curls even at almost 50 years old, and used to do even more back when he had monstrous arms. Other than him I can't think of anyone who does or has done more than that.
-
To be fair to Francois, he did suffer a horrible illness and almost died. But, yeah, he's WAY smaller now, no doubt. Still, when he was "on", he was mega strong. Would do a portion of his training at Westside Barbell, as a matter of fact, squatting and deadlifting with those boys.
Drugs make a colossal difference. If you respond well to them, you're on your way. Take you from a muscular 180 to a muscular 280, no sweat.
Mike responded well.

Mike Francois also had a illness,,dealing with his colon I believe...he is still in the bbing biz, he is a IFBB judge and has a few proteges that are up and comers...he can't do the drug regime and the eating regime or the weight regime that he used to...so he will look differentLou Ferrigno did them seated in pumping iron. I don't think that's too impressive for a guy like Kevin...

KaliMuscle is a NPC heavyweight, I forgot where he placed at the 2010 Nationals...

Nice goggles and nipple rings on this guy. These kinda asswaffles are a dime a dozen. Nothing special. Guy's walking around with his shirt off like he is doing a perpetual FLEX shoot. Absolute jackass giving muscle a bad name.
::)

he doesn't have the nip rings anymore, he was in the 2010 Nats, did pretty well.

no he didnt. he didnt compete at nationals and placed 13th at the usa's.
he has a good prison physique, but not a national level one.

he's got your typical black guy who's been in prison physique.
big arms, big chest, no back and no legs.
he's done ok @ some state shows but isnt a national level competitor because of his lack of completeness.

You don't have to. The times I've been to LA he was always there. Just fly out there and train at Golds. I believe Tito Raymond was one of his partners at times.

Mike O is bigtime strong, believe it. Guy deadlifts, squats and benches massive weight. At least he did. Don't know if he still does. This isn't a secret, either. Most folks down Venice way will confirm.
-
You can just tell that "Danny" the beenerr walks around with ILS(imaginary Lat Syndrome) all day long. :-\

I was just never really a fan of his physique so I never paid attention to him. Thought of him more as a guy whos just around for eye candy and a Lex Luger type figure.
-
Liar Hearn seems like a strong dude. Competes in powerlifting also so it's not all fake plates for photoshoots. :D

Cormier routinely incline pressed 405 for 12 or so reps.
Very strong on the leg press as well.
One of the best physiques of the 90s for sure.
Great symmetry and balance.....very pleasing shape.
Why some of you bash this guy is beyond me.
You guys must realize that these guys like Cormier, Yates, Dillett, ect.. Were very competitive for years.
Now they are retired.....they don't need to carry the size they once did.
-
Cormier should do the masters Olympia he'll clean up for sure.
-
It is really sad to watch the guys I grew up idolizing get old and fall apart over the years.
Sad, but but so very true!!
-
Thanks...I thought it was the otherway around.
stick to your comic books bro
-
Drugs/Steroids are just the "FINISHING TOUCH"
I supposed being retired for over a decade and having your colon yanked out (due to having colitis) had little to do with Francois being smaller.
-
:(

can someone post up the 2001 bfto

Half reps.

He lowers the bar to his chin, in an effort to keep tension on his chest.
