I am looking at the Cadillace CTS AWD 3.6 and the Ford Taurus.
I really like the Ford because they didn't take any bail out money, and I am friends with the owner of the dealership.
Any thoughts?

I had an 08 cts. Loved it and hated it. The biggest trouble I had with it is the dealer. Most mechanics cant work on them some I had to take it to the dealer. Cadillac dealers want people who will throw them money without asking or using their warranty. To replace the front turn signals was like $300, Imagine what it cost me to replace the belts.
When it was running correctly it was fucking awesome, plus everyone loved it. In all honesty, would you rather hold a key with the caddy symbol or the ford?

Captain, I already own an '08 CTS AWD 3.6 Direct Inject.
It is a great, but boring car.
I am one of the few people you will meet that rarely cares about status of things. The only thing I really care about besides training is food and suits (not "clothes", just suits and their accessories).
I like to eat well (with a nice drink--be it wine, bourbon, rye, etc.) and dress for business (Brioni, Isaia, etc.).
Cars? I like to have a nice car, but they immediately depreciate, so I always buy something that I can afford easily.
Even more so then, driving a ford will automatically put you in a lower/bottom class, who wears a $2000 suit and drives a ford ?!!? geez, at least get a lincoln or something for is for poor people.

yes, it will have AWD... think what the X series vehicles and their numbers mean
5 series=X5
3 series=X3
1 series=X1
the 5 series is the midsized, 3 series was the entry level, the 1 series is the entry level. So in theory, the X5 is a 5 series AWD SUV, and so on.

Bout time Ford gets some love in this thread. Have always owned a GT at one time or another. Never went for the Cobra because insurance was a guy being under 25. Back in the early 2000's, my GT with a 125 shot and gears was plenty to get it done around here. Now, definitely not the case.

i have owned and built everything....i just finished building a LT1 daily driver...fiance's 700+rwhp 06 gt, and 900+hp supra....i honeslty could not tell you how many cars i have owned in my short life...but i always go back to the mustang..

Are the LT1's easier to work on as opposed to the LS1's? I have never messed around with the chevy/pontiac late 90's/early 2000's. They look like they are a bitch to work on, not much room in there.

texas....we still have full emmisions testing though....if i intend to use it as a street car i install a stand alone unit for multiple tunes....on the forced induction cars it passes easily....the all motor/and nitrous cars are a little tougher...its all about not going crazy with the cam in all reality....the LT1 just got its sticker on the 1st pass...and with nitrous it made over 700 to the wheels..

Be careful of Patriotism. Its a superior form of mind control. Look out for #1(you). Nothing against these cars, but if you plan on keeping them over 5 years, your resale value will be next to nothing. Is it worth it?

a few yrs back this woman I know test drove a Lexus ES330 and a BMW 330i, and when she test drove the BMW the salesman asked, "Can't you feel the difference between FWD and RWD?" She said no, and got the Lexus, because it had better cupholders...
This same woman then told me she got a Hyundai Tucson, and said that the Hyundai had more space and truckk room than the Lexus and it was amazing...No Duh, you are comapringa Lexus sedan to a SUV.nah, no interest in it....i got the supra...i am happy with that...wouldnt be a hard build though..engine parts are crazy expensive for the is300/supra...be cheaper to buy another car..

the difference (esp. size wise) between a limo like 7 series and a more compact (ie. smaller sedan/coupe) like a 3 series
People have different uses for cars, with your logic a CLK500 is garbage compared to a CLS550 because of the tremendous size difference, and nothing to do with the fact that they are different cars designed for a completely different purpose.

that being said, many are leased, but the 335i and 135i have HPFP (High Pressure Fuel Pump) issues, that have resulted in a class action Lawsuit for BMW not fixing it...or continually having to replace it....
And the 3 series is the class leader that every car from the Lexus IS, Inifiniti G series, Audi A4/A5 series, Mercedes C Class, has been built to take down....it is THE car...

For some reason the older "luxury performance sedans" have more cache and visceral appeal than the new ones. And it's not nostalgia. Just like older 911 Turbos, or old Mustangs, there is something missing in today's cars, with all the electronics, stability aides, warning lights, etc. Like dating the chick with a banging body and face, but finding out you can't test drive unless you get married....

How does that thing feel bone stock? I've heard lots of different opinons. I've been waiting for forever for them to up the displacement and power from the 4.6. Hopefully if my grant is approved at work I can make this the next mustang of the fleet.
