Sarah Palin has hired a veteran operative to serve as a chief of staff to her loosely organized team, one of the biggest indicators yet that the former Alaska governor is leaning toward a run for the White House.
POLITICO confirmed late Friday night that Palin has hired Michael Glassner to serve the key role.
"We are excited that Mike has agreed to come on to help the team," SarahPAC treasurer Tim Crawford said.
Glassner will be tasked with bringing greater organization to the far-flung and small staff that resides in several different states and time zones.
Glassner, whose hiring was first reported by CNN, is a former aide to ex-Sen. Bob Dole and is familiar with Palin from his service on John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign.
One of the key hurdles most Republican operatives say Palin has to clear in order to seriously run for president is hire an experienced staff. Glassner is a step in that direction.

I think there's a possibility (looking like a strong one now), that while polls show us that she is the least likely to be able to beat Obama.... it might not be obvious to HER.
She's been more smug than ever in interviews lately. Ripping on fellow GOPers like Santorum. That smarmy look is back, the attack dog mode. I'm convinced she's running. She didn't need a Chief-of-Staff to have all the 2010 Tea party success. You hire a chief to run for president.

In 2012, Palin was somewhat of an effective cheerleader... BUT... she also attached herself to the Tea Party movement, with FOX news behind her, and then took credit for their advances. It could have just as easily been Huck or Rudy or Bachmann or whoever with the FOX pundit hat, and the tea party still would have won all those seats. America was ready for it. It was an engineered effort by a network (fox) from the RNC, and Palin was a very effective spokeswoman for it. Good at it - but not her work. Rather, she was an employee for a movement way bigger than her.
That being said, she's effective at that. She didn't need to brag about a "Chief of Staff" to do that. I see no other possibility than the fact she's running, at this point.

The majority of voters see her as unprepared and polarizing. I don't care how right she is - her chance of beating obama is FAR LESS than the chance Romney, Mitt, thune and others have.

Palin gives obama the best chance to win in 2012. For that reason alone, you should be wearing a "Please don't run, baby girl!" t-shirt everywhere you go.

Personally, I don't want her to run and prefer someone like Daniels, Thune, Trump RP, but if she runs and gets the nomination, of course I will vote for her over obama.
