Doesn't get much better in terms of an Ideal physique. height, small joints, full muscle bellies....

I can't say that I really agree with the small joint ideal.  I know it makes the surrounding muscle look all the bigger and better, but it also makes these guys look so dainty a lot of the time.  I'd take this physique instead:

There is a pic of Flex Wheeler the 92 USAs that was in a ad for the 92 USAs video tape in Flex Magazine, that one pic was when I knew I wanted to get into bbing. Flex is in yellow trunks and doing a FDB, and it is shot from a low side angle...

But, these two shots are also ones that really motivated me

If i recollect hard enough i have about 3 images that stand out in my mind that were what first drew me into bodybuilding. It was around 2005 and i had just quit the football team after getting thrown off Special teams mid season. I was a little depressed and had to goals or aspirations. I didn't know what i was doing really but my mom had always let me subscribe to muscle and fitness and i would read them every now and then for training tips. The pics never really stood out to me much but 3 in particular stand out in my mind. The first was a Richard Jones cover of Muscle and Fitness.
The second was a Muscle and Fitness magazine a friend had brought to school. It was the 2005 edition and it had Ronnie Coleman on the cover in a kings costume. I think it said King Cole reigns again or something along those lines. I remember now asking my friend if he was on Steroids and he looked up at me blankly and i immediately said "well i know but i mean how much i wonder."

The third image was a picture of Arnold doing pullovers. At the time i didn't recognize who it was. My mom came into my room to see the magazine open to that page and said "you don't wanna look like that do you? (shudder)".

That summer i trained harder then i ever had. I remember taking grape flavored celltech and working out at the gym for 3 hours doing Arnold workouts from his encyclopedia. I put on about 20 lbs.

Casey had the thickness, but never those granite lines like Lee had. I remember Lee best for his backshots, nice V-taper and thick hams. Too bad he tried to bulk up during his last years as a competitor.

none of these guys except Arnold and Serge pretty much. why? i was training long before the rest of them. when Lee Haney won the nationals he had only been training for 4.5 years. i remember reading that and thinking that's not as long as i have!!  now he has been retired 20 years after winning the Olympia 8 times.

 Awesome build.

 Density, symmetry, vascularity, fullness.

What are the weak points? I don't see any.

Guy in the middle picture is Brian Buchanan.
I think he's British. Had an under 30' waist.

Correct, AFAIK he currently lives in Australia where he runs a gym.
Just like Charles Clairmonte (1th picture) he was successful in the NABBA for many years but in the IFBB for only 2-3 years.

As much as we don't like Lou - I think this picture's pretty good.

One of the best comeback physiques. After 17 years of not competing, he became 12th on the '92 'O and a year later 10th.

Sev:

When were you training seriously?  Was this during the time you used fake plates etc to bench and squat?

Just curious.
