Good article man. So you trained with Mentzer when he had his clients do the 2on/1off and 2on/2off protocol yes? Also, his 3 day split was chest/back, arms/delts, legs? I thought it was push, pull, legs? Anyways, it would be cool if you could share some of yours or your clients expericences using the HIT protocol.

JAMA has published an article under controlled study of the benefits of high volume, moderate intensity @ 30% of 1RM. I've seen quite a few comprehensive articles on the subject lately.
Makes you wonder.

Thanks. Yes I first trained with him in July 91 according to my logbook. It was Chest/Delts/Tris one day, day off them Legs/Back/Bi. The fist workout was a few warm up sets on Incline machine presses- an he corrected my form on the FIRST rep of the first set, lol- saying "I insist on proper form", then one set of pec dec to failure, run to the incline press and do a heavy set to failure. I maanaged a whopping 80 lbs,I was so toasted- (we laughed about it later when I did 320) then Forced and ngative reps. Then onto Delts - twosets of lateral raises- same treatment and a set of rear delts. Triceps supersetted extensions and Dips. same punishment. Could barely lift my arms to my shoulders after. Drove the 55 miles to Santa Monica two days later to do part two..

I am actually about as tired of hearing about H.I.T training vs. High Volume...
Kind of reminds me of another deadend prevalent topic on this board. Has to do with religion, belief, or lack thereof.
Let's see, what else can we argue about forever and ever and ever and ever and... and... and..
