I gotta say, I don't see any way Rampage is winning this fight. He couldn't even stop Hamill. I don't think he'll even be able to put a hand on Jones with Jones' reach and kicks.
Expect some serious trash talk from Page trying to get inside Jones' head for this one.
Jones TKO round 2. Round 1 Jones will just toy around with him timidly.
Thoughts guys? (and gal, i.e. W8M8)

if Rampage retired this afternoon I'd be perfectly ok with that decision.
he's not Main event worthy anymore and it's just a sad commentary on how far the talent pool in the UFC has gone into the shitter in the last year and a half....
Love watching Jones do his thing but this fight has 5 round snooze fest written all over it...
Jackson's going to fight to survive and he's just good enough to do that.
-
Agreed. However, after the Rua fight, I see Jones getting more confidence in these big fights... which usually means more aggression. Page is in for an embarrassing beat-down. He's gotta know that too.
-
You guys are way too biased when it comes to Rampage. His last two fights were boring wins because of the guys he was fighting. His Rashad loss was due to him being out of shape. He is absolutely still main event worthy-- I would pay to see him fight Forrest/ Rashad/ Rua again.
The problem is that this is a physical mismatch between the best p4p fighter in the world on the rise and a former top 5 p4p fighter that is on the decline. Jones is going to finish him in the first round unless Rampage lands a lucky shot and ends the fight.
-
There won't be any lucky shots. If Page even does get passed Jones' jabs and kicks, he's gonna fall victim to the clinch (plum) thing Jones does. Knees to the head at that point.
Page is in for some hurting after that fight.
-
Jones by boring UD by staying TF out of harms way. Legs kicks , stay long and score.
As soon as he tries to open up doing some crazy shit, he will leave an opening which rampage waits for.
Jones needs to come in focused this match and take care of business and not get "young" in there and end up getting KTFO which I can easily see happening with him. You are correct, rampage WILL try to get in this guys head with the macho stand there and fight me talk.
Anybody can get touched. Jones is no exception

if Rampage couldn't stop Forrest from kicking him, then Jones will kick one of his legs clean off!
-
The fight will go to a decision. JJ will not be able to put Rampage away.
-
I just wonder what the over/under is for when the crowd starts booing

THIS!
I agree Geo. This fight will be a fk'n snooze fest with jones staying out of harms way (which is smart), leg kicking and jab the shit out of rampage and rampage will be "rampage" and just side to side, boxers style, looking for an opening, surviving off of jones not pushing him past his cardio limits. This shit is getting way too predictable.
SNOOZE FEST Decision for Jones. Only way this fight gets interesting is if jones slips up and get caught on his chin and get complacent. He'll question himself inside and rampage will stalk him harder making the decision somewhat controversial.
either way this fight is a snoozer.
-
rampage is a shadow of his former self. he is going to get embarassed.

He fought with a fractured hand. He didn't tell anyone until after the fight.

Excuses, excuses. He couldn't stop Hamill, a second tier fighter at best. Hamill is/was tailored made for a striker such as Page, and he couldn't get the job don't. Ever seen how low Hamill carries his fists? A Rampage circa 2003 or so woulda murdered him.

It wasn't an excuse. It happen during his training camp. I saw him the week after his fight after he had the x-rays. Wasn't a bad fracture, didn't require a cast but he did have to keep it stable.

I'm not real sure about that actually...
the page from pride (8-10 years ago) didn't fight just to survive and not get hurt...
he threw a hell of a lot more bombs yes, but that only mean't his chin was out there 5 times as much as it is now too...
rampage from then and Jones from now would be a more exciting fight, but that doesn't mean I like pages chances any more then, than I do now..
