Maybe pushing\pulling movements are seen as too aggressive by the other threes religions.

This was an embarrassment! Did you see Drew Jemmot? He deserved a pro card at this show, instead they gave it to a few over the hill guys as a reward for sticking with it so long, meanwhile the day will never come where they can even place in an IFBB pro show! What a joke!
-
WOW!!! someone has to fund the IFBB ... Whats the IFBB yearly fees up to nowadays?

Epic pros
-
where they from U.S ?
-
Black guy looks really good. The other guys, unfortunately, not so much. Although, I'd be curious to see the first guy in a different pose. The abs and thigh pose obviously doesn't suite him very well. Lol.
-

Yes they are from the US. They black guy got his pro card by winning the MW class at the master nationals and can do well as a 202 BB, bc he has alot of room to grow. GH time

Those old guys look good for their age. But what's the point of giving them a pro card ?
There's lots of good bodybuilders they should give those cards to...

Vegas is his name and he can do well in the 202 class if he can add the size without messing up that great waistline.

how come the us dishes out so many pointless pro cards?...
as far as im concerned you should almost be the finished article when u turn pro, so its no use saying the black dude might grow into the 202, if he was anywhere else in the world he wouldnt have turned pro unless he actualy won the amature 202 class, or in most countries the overall against the heavies!
not even worth discussing the other 3....
-
Maybe $$$. I think it is $400 a year to keep your pro card active even if you don't compete. Check out that math.

Steps to becoming an IFBB Professional Bodybuilder
1. Choose the IFBB affiliated federation for your country. You cannot compete in a federation of another country - you have to compete for your home country, or where you have citizenships.
2. Compete! Start competiting as soon as possible - there is nothing as inspirational as competiting against other bodybuilders win, lose or draw! You will progress as a bodybuilder far quicker if you compete than if you don't. If you keep putting off competiting 'until you are ready' then it is likely you will never compete at all. Start in the First Timer (or equivalent category) and work your way up.
3. Win a regional contest weight class. When you win or place highly (and thus get invited) you earn an invite to compete at your federations National Championships contest for that year. This means that you get to compete in the weight class you qualified in, and if you win at the Nationals then you are the best bodybuilder (the Champion!) in your class in your federation for that year! Quite an achievement. The winners of each weight class will the go head to head in a separate contest to see who is the overall Champion for this year.
4. Earn an IFBB Pro Card. Depending on your federation, the overall Champion will be offered a pro card. Some federations offer Pro Cards to winners of individual weight class champions too (though normally the heavier classes only). This can mean that each year more than one bodybuilder may earn a Pro Card.
There are other ways besides your National Championships contest to win Pro Cards - you can win at the IFBB World Bodybuilding Championships. This is a drug tested event, so only the best natural competitors from each countries IFBB affiliated federation are entered. Ronnie Coleman, 8 times Mr. Olympia won his IFBB Pro Card at the World Bodybuilding Championships, and Dorian Yates once competed in this event too. This is probably the only viable way to win an IFBB Pro Card while natural.
Another way is that sometimes a particular IFBB contest may hold a special amateur contest where the victor wins a Pro Card and gets to compete that same night in the Professional contest.

I know Mike and used to train under his guidance at that gym 16 yrs ago when I was a grad student at Miami of Ohio.
Is he still there? Great guy, now in his 60's and won his pro card!

Great post and this was the way to earn a pro card , no question.
Now sadly things have changed. A girl can break out a bikini and guy his boardshorts, go on the Jersey shore workout and go pro within 2 shows as an MPD or bikini entrant! Pretty sad.

Sorry can't ulpoad any pics from this darn phone.

The first guy is his fifties, the third in his sixties snd the last over 70s! No they are not going to give Kai or JAy problems but they are far more deserving of a pro card than some girl who trained 6 months, got fake boobs eyc, or some metro in board shorts who won't squat , these guys have been training for decades, also without drugs in the last guys case.
