Title: Recommended Wrestling Documentaries?
Post by: polychronopolous on August 19, 2011, 05:09:06 PM
I've really been getting into some of these Wrestling Documentaries on Netflix. I kind of got away from watching wrestling for a while but I'm starting to get back into it recently.

Of course Beyond the Mat is a classic, I really enjoyed The Rise and Fall of the WCCW as well.

In the past couple weeks I have watched a doc on The Big Show, Bobby Heenan, The top 50 wrestlers all-time, and The History of Wrestlemania.

IMO, this is one of the few advantages to WWEs grip over this industry and this footage, these movies were all very well done.

So what are some more documentaries that members on this forum would recommend?

Wrestling With Shadows.

While I will forever maintain that the Montreal Screw-job was a giant work, Paul Jay's documentary offered an excellent backstage look at the WWF at that particular time.

The Spectacular Legacy of the AWA
Pick Your Poison (Jake Roberts)
The Rise and Fall of ECW
Breaking The Code (Chris Jericho)
Bret Hart Story (Haven't seen Hart and Soul, which is about the Hart family, but heard it's pretty good)
Heartbreak and Triumph (Shawn Michaels)
Road Warriors: The Life and Death of the Most Dominating Tag Team in Wrestling History
Cheating Death and Stealing Life (Eddie Guerrero)
The Life and Times of Mr Perfect
The John Cena Experience

Is that the WWE one, or the more recent one in which he slams the WWE's?

Its a few years old.. Here is a recap of it. Interesting stuff http://scarless1.tripod.com/burgandvd3.html (http://scarless1.tripod.com/burgandvd3.html). It was done by rf. I thought the AWA doc was the most fair and balanced DVD they have done when portraying another organization.
