My messiah likes Acia Berry muffins.
When you're president, you can spend 79 cents on a shitty bland muffin.
amazing you did not blame palin for once.
What kind of muffin costs $16?
Just because i love to argue...
I contend there is a potential justification for a $16 bagel.
it must come from a private firm. You can't just buy unsecured food from the local grocery store on a regular basis, or you'd have some al-Q prick spiking the breakfast of the entire staff.
So you have to toss in the cost of background checks, protected baking facilities, insurance, security, a shitload of monitoring, and ingredients - which ALSO must come from simillarly protected firms.
Suddenly you see it's not quite as easy as pulling thru McD and asking for 10 coffees and 15 bagels for the crew on the way to the construction site.
Seeing as this has gone unchallenged for a day, I will interpret it to mean I made some valid points that nobody can disagree with. Thread closed.
great point - Drinking with Bob is very concerned with the spending on crap like this.
He is correct - granny getting her social security isn't causing this problem. Sorry Paul Ryan...
skip, if we can attibute and justify 1 more penny of costs - feeding an office meeting in Podunk, Ohio, versus the U.S. Justice Department...
Then you just have to decide what the cost is. ButI think we can all probably agree that there should be SOME level of security for the foods served at such high profile targets. I mean, Al-Q could just spike some unprotected danishes where they know the govt shops, and take out a whole lot of important ppl.
Neither of us knows what level of cost there is, and what level is abuse. IMO, a toilet seat is a toilet seat. Those costs are BS. But we all have seen why the hospital can charge $80 for an aspirin. When you take into acct all the admin/insurance costs...

Skip - If YOU were the guy in charge of feeding the U.S. Justice Department agencies for their meetings -
And your accountant told you that you had to feed them without spending ANY extra money.
However, you also had to ensure these high value targets weren't poisoned.
How would you do it, SKip?
Answer? YOU COULD NOT! You would need to take some addl measures - and they aren't free.
No asswipe! These pieces of garbage dont need conferences in the first place!
33, please tell us why you oppose this conference:
March 2009 conference of the Office on Violence Against Women
Because its all bullshit!
Do you think the DoJ should endorse women's violence?
Maybe, a better solution could be a "Bring your own breakfast" approach to it. But that's just a moderate, common sense solution. Completely ending all DoJ programs, meetings, and conferences would save much more money.

Uh, yes you could. You simply go down to the local Dunkn' Donuts and buy some muffins.
But, since you wish you to continue with the made "poison scenario", let's have put up some facts.
Surely if this were a viable threat, you could post some links to AQ attempting to infiltrate McDonalds, Burger King, Dunkn' Donuts, etc.
Better yet, how about you put up some actual poisonings?
C'mon spinmeister...put up or shut up.
no, no, no.
you don't just send joe the intern to McD to buy muffins.
I'm right, and i know this because it's how it's done. Not some theory about how it should be done.
you don't let the food that goes to the top folks come from unsecured sources.
It's that way today, and it'll be that way in 25 years. Will. not. Change.
Pete Yost of the Associated Press reports that Hilton Worldwide, which manages the Capital Hilton where the 2009 legal conference mentioned in the Justice Department's Inspector General report took place, says the breakfast "included fresh fruit, coffee, juice, muffins, tax and gratuity, for an inclusive price of $16 per person."
We all know that Obama chose the food vendors himself.
This is all part of his secret commie plan to collapse the country one $16 muffin at a time
this goes with the 200 million a day security :D :D :D :D :D :D
$16 for what basically amounts to a continental breakfast?
Sorry dude, still too much.
7.95 at best.

as you can see not exactly your neighborhood i hop
Grenades cost 3 dollars each. I'm sure that fat effeminate fucks such as yourself probably gorge down 12-15 muffins per sitting at one of these events.
How does it feel to know that your obesity costs the American tax payers x10 as much as two wars?
Absolutely...especially with the government's buying power. A little while back, you could get an unlimited breakfast buffet at the Marriott in Fairfax for $10 and that included cooked food like eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles.
Agree. I also agree with the IG: “Some conferences featured costly meals, refreshments, and themed breaks that we believe were indicative of wasteful or extravagant spending,” the Justice Department’s inspector general wrote in a report released today.
if it's the price on the menu than i'ts the price on the menu, next time stay at motel 8
if it's the price on the menu than i'ts the price on the menu, next time stay at motel 8
$16 bucks a man ain't that bad, really.
Well, it seems the IG disagrees.
who cares what he thinks? Unless he placed top 6 at the O, he ain't shit.
Yeah you know better that the IG now, even though he researched this and cited it for abuse.
