It's the wow factor! If you see some guy and he has a pretty decent build naturally , ehmmm ok. You'd think he's got a decent build naturally. Now if you take a build that it would take only steroids to get yet the guy is claiming natural status.......You're like holy shit wow! It's all ego. The steroid using bodybuilder that claims natural status is launched into a whole new category of idolation and admiration. He's embraced as someone who works his butt off, has more knowledge than the next guy etc. The attention is like a drug for most of these idiots. They can get away with it too because most people are too stupid to believe otherwise and too naive to realize bodybuilders are already some of the most narcississtic people on the planet.........and so happen to be some of the biggest liars around as well.
Look at bodyspace. You can go on there and find guys that are the most obviuos juicers that are claiming natural status. And look at all the attention they get. The females are the biggest dumbshits around. They eat that shit up and the natural liars love it.

Normal folks would never acknowledge a person who openly admits to roiding... no matter how "awesome" they look.

LMAO! Even if that was the case and Layne did work harder than everyone else...........someone with average genetics could come along do a few cycles and blow him out of the water. SO what's the point of training naturally again? Seems like a lot work with little reward. Steroids are just a tool, albeit used responsibly, to achieve one's goals. Layne could jump on the sauce and look twice as good and be twice as strong. But he won't because he's got people believing he just natural enough. He's a fraud like most in the fitness industry.

This is the most common thing I see.
No one wants to admit that they juice just to look a couple of notches above normal, they only admit it when they are so out of the norm that there's no other possible answer.
In powerlifting it's the same thing, no one wants to admit that they juiced to bench 3 1/2 plates a side or total just above average.
The old timers don't admit it because it cheapens their accomplishment. Mr. ABC 1973 never wants to admit that Mr. XYZ 1982 used the same stack and looked 10x better. No, Mr XYZ had to be using them steroids and that monkey brain GH........
