real men focus on the muscle groups that matter - arms, shoulders and chest. legs are something you do occasionally.

What do you do for warn ups?
-
why u have two leg curls exercises for only the short head of biceps femoris, all other hamstrings are in inactive insufficiency when the legs are straight. Leg curls should be done seated, that's when all 4 knee flexors are engaged, its why u can move so much more weight in that position
-
What do you do for warn ups?
Consume IHOP's all you-can-eat pancake breakfast

315 front squat, eh not too bad, pretty light though....

I have come to realise that my best legs workouts are when I put almost no effort in it and I just push some 20-25 reps super strict.
that's what I do these days, great pump and I am sore for a while after more than if I go super heavy for 8-10 reps.
seems to give the legs a rounder look too.
leg press
walking lunges
leg extensions
seated leg curl
leg curl
one leg stiff deads
just some super strics high reps without any grunting 8)
-
Why do you do a seated leg curl then a regular leg curl?

cause I have no knowledge about physiology and I go by feel ;D

He's on tons of drugs and just needs to get some blood flowing to the muscles to deliver the sauce, so it doesn't really matter.

Yes I thought he was referring to "mesmorph", sorry Stav.
Lying leg curls are a terrible exercise and a waste of time imo.

Front squats make regular squats seem like a picnic

That's not over training in my opinion.

Exactly ...
Seems a lot of people like to buy into this ... Whole don't train hard or to failure .. But train smart instead....
For me it's Train hard! Or there is no point

a 315lb front squat is light to you people? that's 3 plates. Unless that is your max, 10 reps with that weight is impressive as hell
-

STRONGLY disagree. Those things are murder for your hamstrings. I couldn't do a leg workout without them

Even 135 feels awkward front squats is the hardest excersise I think... Just holding that bar against your throat
... Rough excersise regardless of the weight.. I like the challenge if it though
-

Yeah looks like one "hard" exercise (front squats) then a bunch of isolation work.
-

yup they are tough and because of the way you hold the bar, it makes it more difficult to breathe properly during the exercise too. I usually just do 155lbs for 10 reps per set. It's not to failure but it gets the job done

x2 I don't think even at my strongest I ever went higher than 185 on front squats. 315 for reps is pretty strong imo.

Ronnie Coleman front squats 6 plates on his video
I think one of his most amazing feats of strength

how on earth is 13 sets for quads and 6 sets for hams overtraining? jesus some of you guys are lazy as shit.

Exactly thank you.. This is a moderate session usually do squats on the same day as well putting front squats further back in the session using moderate weight
But these guys are from the Phil Heath hany era as little training as possible....

I think back squats are harder.
With front squats, there's a sense of awkwardness, but i feel that they're easier to perform.

front squats take some time getting used to. Once you master them, it's easy. Back squats used to be easy but my knees hurt now whenever I do back squats so I have to overcome the pain during that exercise now.

naw bro.... back squats are easy compared to front squats that bar resting on your throat... trying not to fall foward when you go heavy... no comparision

140kg on front squat is good? I did 120kg x 3 once, bodyweight 75kg. I always thought 150kg is cutoff of what is considerde decent at my bodyweight, lol.
ATM I do 90-100kg 6-8 reps, bud atm on antibiotics I can't do 100kg for more than 4 for some reason. Part of the reason being I do them as second exercise now. Current bw 72kg.
My leg workout is:
squat 1 set
front squat 1-3 sets (most of the time two sets)
one leg press 2-3 sets
leg extensions 2-3 sets
leg curl 2-3 sets

I think i'm weak as fuck man... Whenever I think ok, pound for pound i'm strongest squatter in my gym i watch those 75kg twinks who are way taller than me doing 180kg front squats like it's nothing and I go like... Ok, I suck balls.
I totally suck balls on bench tho. I'm stuck at 100kg for reps. If everything remains same then sooner or later I'll be able to actually fucking overhead press as much as I bench.
I think that bodybuilders should just stop pretending to be strong or something. They should look strong but... Let's be honest, for every "OH DAMN BEAST FRONT SQUATTING 180kg for REPS" there is 80kg olympic lifter which does same shit, just way deeper...

to be honest i tend to not compare myself with others.... ever .. just try and compete against myself....
that keeps you focused on yourself

question are reverse lunges better that traditional lunges?
I personally don't think it really matters one way or another. I do reverse lunges because it takes less stress off the knee when going back instead of forwards. I have my athletes do them off a 6" step because I feel we get more hip flexor and glute power from it as well as reinforcing sprint mechanics when done with high knee.

Sometimes, I just remember that it's bodybuilding and training hasn't really changed much in 35 years :P

Thanks.
Why would you let someone perform a movement with incorrect form?
All your doing is reinforcing bad habits, increasing the chance for injury, and decreasing performance.
-
And does the fucking knee kick make this movement functional or what? ::)
-
Knew this was coming. Not incorrect form.....thanks. Try it..like the video, doi it with an 80lb external load. BTW, that's my then 17 yo running back who just finished his last season with his second year of 1200 + rushing yard....with ZERO injuries, thanks for coming, tip your waiter on the way out, you've been a great audiance!
-
actual leg program is smolov so i'm squatting 4 time a week.
usually my favorite combo is:
tuesday squat / stiff legged dl / lunge
friday deadlift / front squat.
-
usually do them with a barbell
His form really breaks down at the 7th or 8th rep.
It was ok until then.
Id advise him to really push thru his heels doesnt look like he was.
Also looks like the chink in his armor are his medial glutes thats what was causing that wobblyness on the concentric portion of those last few shitty reps he was doing.
Your welcome Coach.
-
Or it could be he just lost balance on the last couple of reps.

yeah its def not overtraining. this looks fine to me. i do more volume but i don't do calves with quads and hams
-

No thats not it because on his left leg its happening the entire time. He needs to keep his chest up and push thru his heels. All of his weight is on his toes.
What kind of coach are you? Not a strength and conditioning coach right?
