Title: HGH/NFL and Tim Tebow
Post by: The Abdominal Snoman on November 18, 2011, 03:54:15 PM
The NFL supposed has a real test in place for HGH. Rumors are flying round that Tim Tebow is one of the worst "abusers" of said hormone. Do you guys think that the holier than thou Tebow will be set up to crash and burn with the HGH testing?

Why do they have to do that it's so stupid. Let them take things so they can heal up and be the best they can.

Link please. Seems when ever anyone does well (especially Tebow because of his faith) they try to demonize him. What a bunch of crap.

It's cool to persecute Christians in todays society.

If HGH is a banned substance in the NFL. And Tebow might be taking it, why is that crap? Its cheating regardless of his faith isn't it? Tebow's head growth is becoming almost hard to hide. That's no hate that's a fact. Just like Barry Bonds. The difference with Bonds is it wasn't a banned substance when he played.

I agree with you. But if its an NFL rule and you get caught, you should be punished. It does seem that Tebow may have a target on his head. However, he kind of did it to himself.

That's silly. Even the announcers and coaches have stated that they think Tebow has put too much muscle on his frame for QB. They said the same thing about Brady Quinn.

No, not at this point. He's young and an athlete his test levels are off the hook. There's no need for anything at this point in his career.

Guys in the NFL take hgh... SHOCKING NEWS! lol...  Whether you're young like Tebow or older like Favre, it's a great drug for recovery and injury healing.

when your job is to go out every sunday and get pounded into the turf and then go at it again during practice, makes sense that you would take hgh.  It's silly that they would ban it.

Also, Coach, I don't think anyone is implying that Tebow or any other nfl athlete doesn't train hard.  I don't think you can get to the nfl without some form of hard training.  Just because you use hgh doesn't mean you don't train hard and it certainly shouldn't demonize anyone lol.  It's simply peoples lack of understanding of what this drug does that makes them demonize someone when they use it.

True. But it would be quite the dilemma for Tebow considering that it is banned in the NFL. Which means if you are caught using it, you will be called a cheat(regardless of if everyone else is using it-and we know most are) And being a cheat goes against everything that Tebow stands for. He's the one guy who can't afford to get busted for any banned substance.

this year over 300 linemen over 300 pounds went to training camps.

nah, theres no GH in the NFL.

I agree with this to a certain extent. Training, nutrition, recovery, etc has advanced ten fold compared to that of 1980. That's a 31 year difference in training science and research. But that's not to say that some are not doing something. Lyle Alzado took a boatload shit yet because of todays S&C protocols he wouldn't be as strong as most in the NFL today. Believe it or not advanced training makes up for the majority of gains

20 years ago a friend of mine played college football and was a fairly good player till he busted up his knee. He said him and his teammates would get in line every few days in the locker room and walk up one by one to get injected. As he said it-"You took your place in line and took your shot. You didn't know what was in that syringe and I never found out. But I knew it made me stronger than being able to lift the world."

So, while S&C has changed, I'm sure the drug protocols have changed as well, Coach.

The NCAA may pull kids out of class to randomly test but doesn't the IFBB also test (randomly or not) BBers too? Riddle me that. And please don't use the IFBB as a literal comparison, if you read between the lines you know what I mean.

If I remember the post correctly, he said his friend had knee problems so I wouldn't call that "random". Cortisone is more than a painkiller, it also greatly reduces inflammation rather quickly. But the down side is that 1. About a day or two after, the localized pain is worse before it gets better and 2. Cortisone is only good for about 2-4 shots per year.
