LA FITNESS JUST BOUGHT OUT MY LIFESTYLE FAMILY FITNESS TOOO IN WINTER SPRINGS!!!!
Found out yesterday!
-
doesnt mean much will change, does it? ???
Price - La Fitness in the area was $10 more per month than Lifestyle! :)
-
It just means it's going to be the same old "box" gym with different owners. It also means they'll just be further in debt with a bigger bankruptcy.

That's okay Obama will bail them out

Well rumor has it they actually may be shutting down my gym because its doesn't meet LA Fitness standards... there is no place to put the raquetball and basketball courts or a pool, so I would have to actually look for another gym! But I dunno yet!

I work pretty close to Golds and Powerhouse in Tampa.
LA Fitness is building a HUGE gym in Tampa with a massive parking garage! Them bitches are taking over
-
There's nothing wrong with LA Fitness, I used to train there for over a year... but I genuinely liked the Lifestyle Family Fitness I was at... The place was clean, great equipment, staff was very friendly, location was sweet!
I never cared to pay for all the extras like the raquetball courts, and pool, and all that stuff! Just wanna go in lift and leave!

Im not playing basketball or raquetball anytime soon. Its hard finding a gym that has just the right equipment that feels damn good!

LA fitness just bought Ballys total fitness (the whole company)
I thought they just bought out the clubs, mainly in the south. I've had my Bally membership for over 20 years.
-
I spoke to a staff member today, they told me that LA Fitness bought out ALL the Lifestyle Family Fitness gyms. They have already closed one down, the manager of our gym is having a meeting with them tomorrow to see if they close ours down (most likely they will)... so its time to find a new gym in my area!
-
BIG ACH, check this link out. Channel 9 actually did the story and filmed at our gym http://www.wftv.com/news/news/local/la-fitness-buy-33-lifestyle-family-fitness-centers/nPZck/
I suppose I wouldn't mind the buy out so long as the gym remained opened and nothing changed but the name. I remember when Lifestyle used to be Gold's Gym and when Gold's got bought out by Lifestyle the gym remained opened even during the renovation. But being it's becoming LA Fitness which is known for its basketball courts, racquetball courts, etc. (I think) I would imagine they'll close ours down to build those things inside.
It will suck though if our gym closes down all together because that place was my second home. I had been there since it went from being Winn-Dixie to opening its doors as Gold's Gym. I remember the guests during the grand opening was IFBB pro Don Long and Superstar Randy Savage. Well, if nothing else, I already have another gym I'll be joining in mind.

7.95 a month, 24/7 Living Fit Gym...19 to join, no contract, no staff, swipe a card to get in.
-
LA Fitness bought out Lifestyle Family Fitness here in Indy a good 6 months ago. I figured they did the same in all regions. They drove out Bally's when they first came to town. Then they also bought out Cardinal Gym, which were in like 3-4 states around the midwest.
-
Please everyone. Stop going to commercial gyms and stores and restaurants. Buy local and you wouldn't have to deal with this shit.

Nah, they bought the whole company. There gonna close some down for sure and cut down on cost.
I just found out the Bally where I train is now becoming Crunch Fitness, as of July.

LA Fitness just laid off 94 LFF employees in the St. Pete/Clearwater/Tampa area!
-
I actually used to go to the biggest LA fitness in the country (trust me, not bragging). It ws a horrible and shitty gym. Weights were thrown all over the place. It looked like a tornado hit the gym. Its more like a social club than anything else. I mean, it was 115,00 square feet. Had an olympic size swimming pool, racquet ball court, there were 2 or 3 of every machine. But the place was a disaster. So expensive. I cancelled my membership because I didn't use 3/4 of the machines (not because Im hardcore but because so many of them were just useless). I mainly used the free weights and hammer strength machines. Will never go there again.

I went there once, particularly the location in Ocooe, FL (a suburb of Orlando).
The place was great. Dumbbells went up to 150 lbs., four flat-benches, three inclines bolted to the floor, two squat cages, all bolted to the floor.
But, the gym was so CLEAN, I was almost afraid to train on the equipment. The Olympic bars were so shiny that I could literally see my reflection. All the places were vinyl-coated and jet black. None of the padding on the benches was torn. This place was immaculate.

Those 94 employees need a vanguard of elite that gets funding and competes by opening their own gym. Using their personal relationships with members they cpuld steal them all and force lafitness out of the area. This will keep jobs and start a local business. Lets go baby! Dont get down! This is a great opportunity! Hope you guys do it, and win!
Those 94 employees are more than likely worthless. I see no great customer service or maintenance at the LFF.
Big Mike, we never met up at that Zumba class. What gym to go to now? This area blows

I usually go to the LFF in Citrus Park, right on Gunn Hwy. I work right up the street. On the weekends, i will train at the Palm Harbor location!
I could do cardio all day and watch Zumba class!
