A West Point graduate busted selling suspected steroids to an undercover Columbus police officer appeared Tuesday in Recorder's Court and was ordered held on $15,000 in bond.
Capt. Charles Danielson Eadie, 30, was stationed at Fort Benning when he allegedly sold three vials of anabolic steroids Sunday afternoon outside the Reese Crossing Shopping Center.
Police said Eadie was scheduled to report Monday to his new duty station at Fort Bragg, though he had no bond and remained in the Muscogee County Jail. Eadie appeared Tuesday morning in court and pleaded not guilty to charges of sale of steroids and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
A charge of use of a communications device against Eadie was dismissed.
Special Agent Molly White testified at Tuesday's hearing, saying an informant contacted police about someone selling steroids and that a meeting could be arranged. A deal was then reached, and an undercover officer met Eadie in the parking lot of the Gentian Boulevard shopping center, White said.
"The defendant and the undercover officer parked window to window," White added. "Two hundred dollars was exchanged for three vials of anabolic steroids."
The street value of the three vials is $900, White said.
