Title: Evander Holyfield retires from boxing....finally
Post by: Vince G, CSN MFT on October 12, 2012, 04:50:14 PM: Evander Holyfield says he's officially done fighting ... FOREVER ... despite reports the 49-year-old boxing great is looking to get back in the ring one last time.

After his last fight back in 2011, Holyfield had hinted that he wanted one more go inside the ring before hanging up the gloves ... and considering his troubling financial situation, it seemed like a sure thing.

But last night at LAX, Holyfield assured us his boxing days are over ... period.

Thus ends the career of one of the greatest boxers of all-time -- he finishes his illustrious career with 44 wins, several championships, and of course ... half an ear.

Evander says that he's become a trainer and is grooming a talented journeyman for his next bout.

Post by: johnny1 on October 13, 2012, 02:15:11 AM: Hopefully he does stayed Retired, without doubt IMO one of the Last of the true Great Heavyweight Champions to Finally Retire, his Wars with Riddick Bowe were awesome as well as the Tyson and Lewis fights, he always punched above his Weight and the list he fought was impressive, Bowe, Holmes, foreman, Mercer, Tyson, Lewis etc etc even though Foreman and holmes were way past it when he fought them Foreman power wise was still a Threat and holmes still sneaky as hell, and even though he beat Tyson in 96 and 97 imo i doubt he would of beaten a 1987-88 Tyson whatever the case he was one of the last of the True Champions in the Boxing ring and all the best to him.
