Well..There is absolutely no doubt about this one....Obama was on his game and destroyed Romney.....Obama was brilliant......Romney did okay as well..but the president was just too good for him....the president brought up the 47%......and brought it up at the end when Romney couldn't refute it.....Obama put Romney in his place and Romney got caught out there on a big gotcha when even the moderator said that Obama did in fact mention that it was a terror attack in the Rose garden the next day after the Benghazi attack...
and now the next debate will be on Obama's strength....foreign policy...where Romney has absolutely nothing to offer or any experience whatsoever....3333...hav e you committed suicide yet???
-
Many top repub pundits, and the majority of viewers, believe obama won. he probably did. it won't affect a great deal. people know who they're voting for... for the most part. I think most undecideds have a pretty good idea.

Boy are you late to the party.
First, the moderator ADMITTED that Romney was right, shortly after the debate.
Second, Obama got this "win" simply for showing up and not stinking up the joint, as he did in Denver (because)
Third, the same polls that claim Obama won said that Romney beat Obama on the economy and several other issues.
You're actually naive enough to think the 47% comment was worth something. Team Obama has been using that for over a month. It had basically NO effect, before the first debate; it has ZILCH of an effect after the first debate.
Not to mention that Obama was absolutely MUTE, when Romney kept bringing up Obama's failed record, the number of people on food stamps since he's been president, his failure on immigration reform, his failure on unemployment.
What's Obama's 2nd term agenda again? The same voters who said Obama won also stated Obama had NO clear vision for the future, for what he would do, if re-elected.
Again, this was, at best, a charity win (based on badly he sucked two weeks ago).
-
A charity win?
-
Andre,
Did they run out of Tylenol at the crash test dummy factory again? Why are you even posting on this board?
-
Just curious have Obama or any other dem EVER won a debate in your eyes?
-
A charity win?
Don't take my word for it:
CNN Poll: Romney Wins 54-40 on Economy,
49-46 on Health Care,
51-44 on Taxes,
59-36 on Deficit,
49-46 on Leadership,
All in Favor of Romney
You now, as far as "Debate Winner" it's pretty close with those registered voters. CBS gives it to Obama, among registered voters 37-30. CNN's registered voters gives it to Obama 46-39.
But on actual issues -- the ones that will determine this election -- Romney destroyed him.
CNN's focus group claimed they thought Obama "won." They had it something like 14 for Obama, 15 draw, 6 Romney.
But even that group said this-- on the question of "Who offers a better vision for the future?," Romney edged Obama 18-17.
Now that's very slim. I wouldn't read too much into that.
But consider: More people think Romney presents a better vision for the future -- the quickest possible shorthand for "who should be President?" -- and yet he didn't "win" the debate?
You always have to question what the criteria people are employing when you ask them who "won." I think people are rating the performance. And narrowly saying, on performance, it was a close thing, but edge to Obama.
But ask about who actually reached them on the most important issues, and it's Romney, all the way.
So they seem to be distinguishing between performance and substance.
Romney wins the substance, pretty clearly.
I'll take it. And give Obama his charity performance points.
More: Foreign policy, Obama edges 49-47.
But this is amazing: Did Obama offer a clear vision for solving the country's problems?
38% Yes
61% No
61% No. Wow.
How about that asked about Romney?
49% Yes
50% No
A Spectator Culture: Americans have gotten pretty sophisticated about judging performance, especially after 10 years of American Idol.
We shouldn't assume that when people answer the question "Who won the debate?" they confuse that question with "Who did you find more persuasive?"
They might actually be offering a sophisticated analysis: "I think this guy won on debate performance points."
But then ask them "Who actually persuaded you?," and they might answer a completely different way.
It certainly appears that's what happened here tonight.
http://ace.mu.nu/archives/333917.php
Once again, how do you lose on four of five issues, on which the debate was structured, but win the debate itself?
Perhaps, you or your alter ego, or any TK member (other than 240, who keeps using sex analogies) can address that.

Your whole post is comical but I think the funniest part has to be your claim that foreign policy is his strength. The collapsing Middle East and resurgent Al Qaeda (who now controls more territory than they have any other point in their existence) really speaks wonders about how great a job he has done.

The fact that you would call this a charity win shows that you are biased and have the pompoms out for Romney....Obama clearly destroyed Romney....why not just admit it and move on to fight another day?..

oh brother...NOW we are DISSECTING who won which parts of the debate.....Obama WON.....why can't you bring yourself to admit that???...when Romney won last time you didn't dissect anything..
Jesus mother, your hypocrisy is becoming so glaring its amazing
-
The fact that you would call this a charity win shows that you are biased and have the pompoms out for Romney....Obama clearly destroyed Romney....why not just admit it and move on to fight another day?..
Of course, I'm pulling for Romney. You think I want this fool, Obama, in the Oval Office another four years? PLEASE.
But, it appears that, much like your TK brethren, you can't answer a simple question. If Obama "destroyed" Romney, why did the CNN and CBS polls (the same ones that said Obama won) GIVE ROMNEY THE NOD ON THE ECONOMY and several other issues?
One more time:
CNN Poll: Romney Wins 54-40 on Economy,
49-46 on Health Care,
51-44 on Taxes,

BTW, 37-30 (with 33%, claiming it was a draw) hardly amounts to Romney being destroyed. Even the political commentators who gave it to Obama aren't making that claim.
You want destruction? Look at the first debate.
-
oh brother...NOW we are DISSECTING who won which parts of the debate.....Obama WON.....why can't you bring yourself to admit that???...when Romney won last time you didn't dissect anything..
Your original post said it was a landslide, which would put it on par with what Romney did to Obama in Debate #1, and that's absolutely not the case.
Watch over the next few weeks - I don't think you'll see the New Yorker with a new cover with Obama lecturing an empty podium....etc..
-
Your whole post is comical but I think the funniest part has to be your claim that foreign policy is his strength. The collapsing Middle East and resurgent Al Qaeda (who now controls more territory than they have any other point in their existence) really speaks wonders about how great a job he has done.
resurgent Al Qaeda?????????????.....dude what planet are you on???????????Al Qaeda has been basically bombed out of existence by Obama.....they are basically irrelevant now.....the middle east is not collapsing, its being reborn and going through a transition phase......they are turning into democracies....not the perfect kind we would like but democracies nonetheless...which was George W. Bush's goal as well
Holy shit.....THINK
-

Jesus mother, your hypocrisy is becoming so glaring its amazing
So where did Obama win, this debate? I figured IF THE GUYS ON CNN can dissect their own poll (i.e. Wolf Blitzer, John King), I can too.
Why can't you answer that?
You claim Biden destroyed Ryan in the VP debate. How'd that work, especially in the national and state-by-state polls?
-

I claimed that Biden destroyed Ryan in that debate but that was my OWN ASSERTION....I readily accepted the CNN polls that said the opposite...
As opposed to you who will NOT accept the polls saying that Obama won......you don't care about the truth and you make up shit to split hairs...did Obama win YES OR NO....just say YES OR NO...don't say anything else

my God ...you are splitting hairs...OBAMA WON....say it slowly so it will sink in...O B A M A W O N............
I already said that. It's also a CHARITY WIN because, per a Pew Research poll (cited by CNN and other sources), the expectations were lowered.
Obama sucked so badly in Denver that, as predicted over a week ago, all he had to do is show up with a pulse, and he'd be declared the winner.
Even Blitzer and King appeared concerned about Romney getting the nod on the economy and the other issues, to the point where King goes on record as stating that Romney wins if those numbers hold.
But, hey, keep on cheering. Obama won the debate...simply because he didn't suck, with commentator after commentator asserting that the bar was set so low, based on how he tanked the first one.
-

AGAIN....one more time.....YES OR NO...thats it...just a one word post is all I need from you........no explanation behind it..YES OR NO

Boy, you can't read, can you? I not only said that he won. I said exactly WHY he won.
And, I do NOT have to just say "Yes" or "No". I can break it down and tell you WHY he won, just as I did two weeks ago with ROMNEY.
Maybe a clue will pop into your head and you'll realize that there is no reset button in an election. There's always carry-over. Obama, getting a charity win, simply for showing up with a pulse, doesn't negate his getting the HELL kicked out him in Denver, especially when he loses on the issues that will decide this election (IN BOTH DEBATES).
-
and exactly what scholarly information have you brought to this thread smartass????
Oh, I don't know. Maybe the point that Al Qaeda is completely resurgent (as confirmed by our own intelligence community) and now controls more territory than at any other point in its existence or that the Middle East is on the verge of descending into all-out Sunni vs Shia war?
-
How is it a loss for Ole' Mitt when he was, decisively in some cases, seen as a winner in the most important categories among voters?
Obama wasn't a total bumbling putz, wow, good for him he can have a medal for showing up. That isn't a win, though.
-

and your assertion is dead wrong...all experts say that Al Qaeda is a shell of what it used to be....sorry to break your heart...but you're used to that anyway
-
sigh.................. ;D ;D ;D
One more time, how does a president win a debate, despite losing on four of the five major issues that comprised the debate (especially on the most important issue of them all, the economy)?
For some reason, you're having difficulty with that one.
-
and your assertion is dead wrong...all experts say that Al Qaeda is a shell of what it used to be....sorry to break your heart...but you're used to that anyway
Actually, all the experts are saying that Al Qaeda and its off-shoots are resurgent and quickly regaining strength. They now control more territory than at any other point in their existence. Our own intelligence community has confirmed this. They hold territory in Pakistan, Libya, Yemen, Mali, Afghanistan and Somalia, for starters. They're currently pushing into Nigeria and other north African countries. ::)
Sorry to break your heart, but our intelligence experts know more than you. You're just not very intelligence, hence why you're still chasing that BS at 53-years-old.

To idiots like andretheclown it is all about likeability. Andre likes a man with the same shade of color.
Lil skinny barry lost again. The only difference is that he actually spoke up this time and looked Romney in the eyes for more than 2 seconds. That does not equate to a win when the better arguments were presented by Mitt. He was lucky that the format of the debate didn't allow Mitt to respond to his 47% comment by reminding Obama what he said about certain people clinging to religion and guns.

andre just wants superficial answers that ignore context and depth.
Win/Loss, taking UE at face value, etc..

which proves my point about your not being fair and unbiased

such wisdom from the GED candidate:
gaining stength???????????????...where???????...in your head?????????...there are only mostly Al Qaeda wannabees left....most of the main faction has been decimated by Obama....your bias is overtaking your reason.......
go back to your GED studies......this stuff is to much for you

I described how and WHY Romney won the first debate; I described how and WHY Obama won this one. I qualified Romney's win. I qualified Obama's win.
Try answering the question, without running like a scalded dog.
-

Why would anyone say that Obama won, when Mitt smoked him in 4 of the 6 most important issues facing the country?
Only deaf and blind libs would make such a claim.
-
You said Obama won in a landslide, which is the equivalent of what Romney did in the first one. It's completely wrong.
CNN poll had Obama winning this debate by 7; CNN had Romney winning the first debate by TWENTY-TWO.
CNN showed Romney winning four of five topics on which the debate was based.
What were the internals on the first debate again?

I will believe you when I see a litany of publications showing Obama lecturing to an empty podium, a big swing in the polls, ect.... The general consensus is that he did better, but an objective person can see that both sides traded punches effectively.
You have not subtantiated this claim with anything other than your opinion. Mcway has shown you examples that you have yet to counter with anything deeper than the roll eyes smiley.

Well someone forgot to tell the folks in North Cakki-Lakki that Obama won. Because, thanks to that state moving to the "Lean Romney" category, Romney NOW LEADS OBAMA in the RCP electoral college count, 206-201.
Two and a half weeks ago, Obama was up 265-191.
I'm sorry, who got destroyed in the debate again?
-
andre just wants superficial answers that ignore context and depth.

Andre spends his entire workweek being buckled up and driven into brick walls at varying speeds without a helmet in order to test cars with suspect safety features. there is nothing to substantiate...I stated my opinion and said why in my very first post....NO EXPLANATION WILL PLEASE MCWAY ANY WAY so why bother...

Yeah..I get it, Obama is your beloved. HOWEVER, facts are facts. Obama did better, he attacked and had candy slobbering all over him. The worst thing you could say about Romney was that he didn't stomp on Obama's throat and end this thing now. He wasn't even able to get rolling on libya because of the hack running the debate. The polls have crept over the margin of error. Even when Mitt was doing poorly it was withing the margin....barry is tanking. Why would you believe with a shitty economy, gas prices, foreign policy failures...that he should be winning?

-
Did crowley not step in and completely fuck up the question....is that not a fact. Just admit your voting for Obama because he's black.
-
I don't think it's a coincidence that the GOP candidate scored the only clear victory of the debates (Romney over Bathhouse Barry) in the only debate where the moderator stayed out of the conversation and allowed the candidates to speak to one another.
-
Funny how that works...microcosm of the last 4 years with the kneepadding media.
-
You really are a bunch of pathetic whiny bitches

Obama can't stand on his own two feet without hiding behind a woman to do his fighting for him.
Hillary, Crowley, Eva Longoria, Fluke, Soledad, Jarrett, Moochelle, Aunt Zeuituni, Grandma Sarah, Mika, et al doing obama's fighting for him.
